San Antonio, Texas - Cameron Baseball dropped both games of the doubleheader against No. 17-ranked St. Mary's on Friday evening at Dickson Stadium.
In game one, the Aggies scored four runs on five hits, getting on the board first in the top of the third inning after Diego Villarreal hit an RBI single to score Wyatt Cunningham. St. Mary's responded with an RBI single of their own to tie up the game in the bottom of the fifth. In the top of the seventh, Daniel Yardley hit a sacrifice fly to put Cameron ahead again. The Rattlers tied the game once more with a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the seventh. This first game of the doubleheader went into extra innings after the seventh, and the Aggies went up two runs in the top of the eighth after Zane Roos hit a 2-RBI double. St. Mary's answered with a 2-RBI single of their own to tie the game again in the bottom of the eighth. The Rattlers won the game on a walk off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.
In game two, the Aggies struck first again in the top of the second off a Wyatt Cunningham RBI-triple. St. Mary's took the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the third, then Cunningham answered with a solo home run to tie the game at 2-2. The Rattlers scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead back. Cameron responded with four runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead. St. Mary's plated four runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a three-run lead. Cameron scored one run in the top of the ninth, but the rally fell short.
