San Angelo, Texas - The Cameron University Baseball team battled offensively but ultimately fell in the series opener to Angelo State University, 16-11, on Friday night at Foster Field. The Aggies struck first in the top of the first inning as Diego Villarreal launched a solo home run to give the Aggies an early advantage. After Angelo State responded, the Aggies answered in a big way in the third inning, plating four runs to regain momentum. Cameron continued to apply pressure in the fourth with another four-run frame, capitalizing on opportunities to stay in front of the Rams.The Aggies added two more runs in the sixth inning, continuing to battle at the plate and keeping the game within reach. Despite Angelo State putting together several multi-run innings, Cameron's offense remained resilient throughout, tallying 10 hits and consistently threatening with runners on base.
