Lawton, Okla. - The Cameron University softball team won Game 2 to split the doubleheader with #5 West Texas A&M University on Thursday evening.
In game one, West Texas A&M took an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Kyndel McDaniel hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning to bring the Aggies within one run. The Lady Buffs would score three runs in the top of the third and two more in the top of the sixth to extend their lead. Rylee Ross hit an RBI-single in the bottom of the sixth to plate another run for Cameron. West Texas A&M scored another run in the top of the seventh and closed out the game defensively for the win.
In game two, it was a low-scoring game with only three total runs being scored. West Texas A&M struck first again, scoring a run in the top of the third inning. Cameron would tie up the game in the top of the fourth inning, with Payton Dickerson scoring on a passed ball. Brynn Webber hit the go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning to score Anslie Roach. Stormee Reed struck one out and forced two groundouts to earn the win and give the Aggies the win over #5 West Texas A&M.
