2018 (Senior): Started 42 games for the Aggies in his final season on campus, batting .277 with 27 runs scored, 41 hits, and 16 RBI. Kaaukai also walked 12 times and was 12-14 on the base paths; the Hawaii native posted a .955 fielding percentage with 59 putouts and 91 assists while playing shortstop for the Black and Gold. Kaaukai had 10 multi-hit games in 2018 with three games with three hits and one with four. He went 4-5 with an RBI and a run scored against Eastern New Mexico (3/30) and had a season high four RBI while going 2-5 against Texas A&M-Kingsville (3/16). 

2017 (Junior): Kaaukai led CU at the plate during his first season on campus, batting .435 in 138 at bats. While playing in 44 games and starting 43 of those, he scored 42 runs and had 30 RBI. His on base percentage of .557 was best in all of Division II, while his batting average was sixth best in the nation. Kaaukai had 20 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI games, while finishing the season on a 12 game hitting streak. In three games against Texas A&M-International at the beginning of March, he had a line of .750/.800/1.333 while recording nine hits, seven runs, and nine RBI, leading CU to a series sweep. That performance earned him LSC Hitter of the Week for that week. Kaaukai was named First Team All-LSC, NCBWA, D2theCCA, and ABCA/Rawlings All-South Central Region First Team, and was named an All-American by the NCBWA and D2CCA.
