DURANT, Okla. – The Cameron Aggies softball squad (21-22, 5-7 LSC North) fell in five innings today to Southeastern Oklahoma (33-17, 10-5 LSC North) on the road in Durant, 10-0.
The Storm jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first inning as leadoff batter Jeana Keyes homered to right field followed by a two-run Katie Campbell homer to left center. A Casey Tice single down the left field line added two more runs.
Southeastern added four more in the second and one in the fourth to put the game into the run rule situation. It was also Senior Day in Durant and the Savage Storm secured a postseason berth with their victory.
CU’s only hit of the day came in the fourth when Amanda Karth connected for a single to center field.
Carrie Harvey (14-11) was tagged with the loss after just a third of an inning worked. She allowed five runs on five hits. Kelsy Hebert worked the final 3.2 innings while scattering seven hits and allowing five runs.
The Ags will take the field again on Friday when they host Northeastern State to close their conference home schedule. The Friday game will also be the "Strike Out Cancer" game with details to follow. First pitch is slated for 3 P.M.
