LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron Aggies softball team (22-26-1, 6-9 LSC North) completed the home portion of their 2011 schedule with a pair of losses to USAO (30-24, 12-14 Sooner Athletic) at Cameron Field on Wednesday.

The Aggies dropped the opener 3-0 and fell 4-1 in the finale as high winds and chilly temperatures kept most fly balls in the park and hits at a minimum.

In the opener, CU was held to three hits, two off the bat of Drew Wright, as the Drovers posted three runs in the third including a two-run homer from Elizabeth Agpalo to take the 3-0 victory.

Kelsy Hebert (7-9) was tapped with the loss for the complete game effort. She scattered seven hits while allowing three runs and striking out one.

In game two, the Drovers struck first in the third as a double from Agpalo down the left field line drove in Skyler Nichols for the 1-0 lead.

USAO added another run in the fifth, aided by a CU fielding error, to build a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the frame, Jessica Orr legged out an infield single and advanced to second after the throw from the shortstop was too low and went into the fence. Brittany Elkins knocked Orr in with a single through the right side to make it a 2-1 ball game.

However in the seventh, Sara Reeves got a two-out double over the head of Elkins in right field to plate two more insurance runs as the Aggies fell in order in the bottom of the seventh.

Freshman Anna Hudson (0-4) picked up the loss in a complete seven innings of work. She allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) while walking seven and striking out two.

Next up, the Aggies will travel down to Wichita Falls for a three-game set with No. 3 Midwestern State to close out their regular season in what is being billed as the “Red River Rivalry.” First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. on Friday from Mustang Park.
