Box Score GOLDEN, Colo. – Cameron put together a solid second half to take down Colorado School of Mines 80-68 for their fifth win of the season.
The Aggies (5-1) got solid offensive numbers from
Chelsea Stamp,
Jade Herl,
Jazzmine Robinson, and
Brittany Harris and held Mines to only 26 second half points after leading 42-40 at the half.
"We had four in double figures which was really good and our bench tonight was really strong," said head coach
Tom Webb. "Our girls tonight responded really well to a tough loss last night and fought back to get a really good win for us tonight."
"This was a really good win for us, but we know that we need to get back to business quickly and continue to be successful."
Lacy Reinke was a key contributor for the Aggies down the stretch getting 10 of 11 rebounds in the second half and she pulled off three steals with a pair of blocks.
"It was one of the few times this season where she wasn't in foul trouble and need her in the middle for us," added Webb. "Lacy does a lot of good things for us defensively and to have her on the court for the majority of the game really helped us in the second half."
After a 48-48 tie at the 15 minute marker in the second half Cameron controlled the ball going a 10-3 run and never looked back.
Stamp who was named to the All-Tournament team led Cameron with 19 points, nailing five three-pointers. Herl had her best outing in an Aggie uniform with 16 points, all coming from the arc; Harris fired off 15 points, with Robinson chipped in 12.
Cameron held Mines to only 26.5% shooting in the second half with only two shots made from downtown over the course of the night, while
CU would hit 10 on their side of the court. The Aggies would edge Mines in the rebounding battle, 45 to CSM's 44.
Cameron will return home on Dec. 3 to host Northwestern Oklahoma in the Aggie Gym at 6 pm.
