Aggies swept in day one of Southeastern Regional Invitational

Missouri Western 5, Cameron 4 (8 inn) | Box Score
Cameron got locked into another pitching duel in game one at the Southeastern Regional with Missouri Western before falling in extra innings, 5-4.

The Aggies held a 2-1 lead until the top of the sixth where the Griffons got a solo home run to tie the game. 

In the top of the eight with the game locked up at two, Cameron would blink first giving up a two run home run and a manufactured RBI to take the lead 5-2.

Now trailing, the Aggies got a leadoff double from Tara Martini, before her sister Leslie Martini belted her 34th career home run to pull the Aggies back by one.   Following the homer, MWSU brought in a reliever who would strike out the next three batters in order.

Spencer Ferrell continued to be stellar that the leadoff spot going 3-for-4, L. Martini went 1-for-4 with a homer, and 2 RBI, while Sonora Zukerman hit her first career homerun for CU going 1-for-4 with 2 RBI.

Samantha Betts went the full eight innings for the loss, giving up five runs (four earned), walking one, and striking out seven batters.

Central Missouri 7, Cameron 5 (8 inn)
Cameron played in their third straight extra inning game but luck was not on CU’s side again falling 7-5 to Central Missouri in eight innings.

The Aggies got an early run in the bottom of the first and held the Jennies scoreless until the fifth inning where they put up two runs and took the lead, 2-1.  In the bottom frame, Cameron would respond back with two runs and would retake the lead, 3-2. 

UCM would tie the game in the top of the seventh to and keep CU scoreless in the bottom half to force extra innings for the third game in a row. 

Once again in extras, Cameron would cough up four runs in the top of the eight and would trail 7-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth.   The Ags would mount a threat scoring two runs but they couldn’t claw back falling 7-5.
