Box Score LAWTON, Okla. – An hour and a half rain delay slowed the Aggie momentum from getting a win over Angelo State.  Cameron surrendered three runs in the fifth inning and their offense only scratched one hit following the delay as ASU would complete the three game sweep, 6-3 over CU.
The Aggies are now 6-13 for the season and they are 0-3 in Lone Star Conference play. Â
ASU got on the board in the top of the third scoring a run, and Cameron responded back with three in the bottom frame. Â
Leah Trousdale started the inning with a bloop single into left field, and then
Misty Dooley singled putting two on and no out. Â
Spencer Ferrell dropped down a sac bunt to move the runners over to second and third. Â
Tara Martini swung at the first pitch and hit a single to the shortstop, scoring one run, and putting runners at the corners. Â Â
Leslie Martini then smashed a double to right field scoring Dooley and her sister Tara. Â
Following the third the skies opened up and the tarp was thrown over the field as the game sat idle for the next hour and one half. Â
The game changed after the delay, as ASU would tack on three runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh off of CU starter Samantha Betts. Â Cameron bats were quieted by a pitching change following the delay, going hitless until the seventh inning. Â The Ags would fall in a heart breaker, 6-3.Â
Both sisters Tara and
Leslie Martini would go 4-for-8 with 3 RBI. Â Betts was charged for the loss going the distance tossing 162 pitches, striking out four batters, while giving six runs (five earned).Â
Cameron will travel to San Antonio, Texas for a three game series against Incarnate Word starting on March 15.Â
