Box Score LAWTON, Okla. – A pair of two run innings for the Cameron University softball team was just enough to get their fourth Lone Star Conference win in a row over Texas A&M Kingsville, 4-3 at Cameron Field on Saturday afternoon.Â
The Aggies overall record improved to 13-22 and 6-9 in the LSC. Leslie Martini collected a hit with a pair of RBI, while sisters Sonia and Micah Foutch both had a hit and a RBI.Â
Kingsville (11-27, 1-14), got a solo home run from Jaeleen Castro.  Krista Leal added a pair of hits and a RBI.
Cameron starting pitcher Kelsy Hebert (4-4) earned her second win in the series going 4.1 innings and giving up three runs (two earned). Samantha Betts tossed 2.2 innings of relief and struck out four batters.
The Aggies jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the home half of the first off of three hits. Misty Dooley got a nine pitch one out single to left center field. Tara Martini followed up and bashed a full count single to right field to put runners at the corners. With sister Leslie at the plate, Tara stole second to put two runners in scoring position. After working another full count, Leslie would drive home Dooley and Tara home off another Aggie single to make it a 2-0 ballgame.Â
In the top of the second and third the Javelinas got a run to even the game at two apiece. Despite this, Cameron would collect two insurance runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Leslie Martini started the inning with a nine pitch walk, she would be pitch ran by Makenzie Burk who stole second and advanced to third off a fielding error. Sonia Foutch nailed a first pitch single down the left field line to score Burk from home to give CU the 3-2 lead.  Later in the inning, Micah Foutch added a run off of a single to give the Aggies a 4-2 advantage.Â
In the visitor half of the fifth, Castro smacked a 2-0 count home run over the left center field fence to end Hebert’s day.  Betts came in out of the bullpen and shut the Javelina hitters with four punch outs and completing the three game sweep 4-3 over Texas A&M Kingsville.
Cameron will return to action on Monday, April 8 hosting UT-Permian Basin for a non-conference doubleheader. Â
