First Serve

The Aggies started off their LSC season with a home 0-3 loss to Eastern New Mexico on Sept. 17, and then two road loses to Tarleton State (1-3) on Sept. 20 and Angelo State (0-3) on Sept. 21. These three loses put the Aggies at 4-7 so far on the season. Errors have plagued CU in the past three matches, hitting 79 of them, which resulted in low hitting percentages in all three matches. Kelle Carver led the offensive attack with 31 kills, while Kat Evans helped out with 18. Kayla Hebert recorded two more double doubles, with 61 assists and 31 digs for the three game stretch. Lauren Acuna and Rebecca Green stood out defensively, as Acuna had 44 digs and Green totaled 11 blocks, with a career tying six against Tarleton State.

Scouting Texas A&M-Commerce
Cameron has met up with Texas A&M Commerce 42 previous times in a series that started in 1980 at the NAIA National Tournament. Last season, the Aggies split the home and home series with the Lions with each team winning on their own court. Cameron has won six of the last eight matches over Texas A&M Commerce.

Within the conference the Lions lead in hitting percentage, assists, kills, and service aces. Kayla Bond is third in the LSC with a .333 hitting percentage, while Amy Davault leads in kills per set (3.44). Jordan Neal who was selected as a pre-season setter of the year by the LSC is leading the conference with 11.74 assists per set.

As a team the Lions are averaging 14.31 kills per set and 13.31 assists per set.

Scouting Texas Woman's
This will be Cameron's 45th overall meeting with Texas Woman's dating back to 1990. Overall the Aggies hold a slight 22-20 lead over the Pioneers who have taken the last three meetings. Cameron has not taken a set from Texas Woman's over the course of those three matches either.

The Pioneers are in the middle of the pack in the LSC in hitting percentage (5th) and digs (4th). However, they are second in blocks averaging 2.18 per set. Individually, within the conference Marcela Alves is eighth in blocks averaging 0.96 per set and Kayla Rivero is ninth in assists, averaging 5.56 per set.

In the last LSC weekly awards, the Pioneers swept all three major honors after posting a 4-1 record. Josie Santos was named Offensive Player of the Week while Morgan Wilson earned Defensive Player of the Week and Rivero received Setter of the Week honors.

The Carver Attack
After missing the 2012 season, Kelle Carver is back to her old form on the court. She is averaging 3.65 kills per set in nine matches played, which is second in the LSC, and has 113 total kills. Carver landed on the Henderson State All-Tournament Team a couple weeks ago, and she has rattled off a streak of four double digit kill games.

Green Machine
Junior, Rebecca Green is leading the Aggies in blocks with a total of 23. She is averaging .62 blocks per set, had two four block matches against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Eastern New Mexico, and tied a career high with six blocks against Tarleton State.

Coming Up
After the home matches against St. Gregory's on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and Midwestern State on Saturday, Oct. 5, the Aggies will have a long tough road test that will keep the Aggie Gym empty from Oct. 6 to Oct. 25.
