Errors prove costly for Cameron, falling in straight sets to UCO

Box Score
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – For Cameron it was a tail of two matches.  In their season debut the Aggies couldn't miss hitting a outstanding .356 percent, while committing only 12 errors.  However in their second match against Central Oklahoma, CU had 12 errors in the first set alone.  The Broncos (2-0) would go on to sweep the Aggies (1-1), 14-25, 21-25, 17-25.

"The matches were polar opposites from each other," said head coach Doug Tabbert.  "Against Christian Brothers we were disciplined and had great ball control to get the win.

"We just didn't put up much resistance against UCO and they took advantage on that.  We made too many errors and we got what we deserved."

The Aggies went on to make 27 errors and had a .035 attack percentage in the loss.  Grace Newkirk and Kat Evans both had six kills, while Kelle Carver added five kills and four block assists for CU.  Kayla Hebert dished out 22 assists and Lauren Acuna added 17 digs.

Central Oklahoma hit .298 as a team with 40 kills and 12 errors.  Barbara Jackson led UCO offensively with 11 kills, and Allison Barr had eight.  Katy Davis gave the Broncos 29 assists, while Tate Hardaker added 20 digs.

Cameron will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. against Alabama-Huntsville and they follow that match with Southwest Baptist at 11 a.m.
