Women's Basketball Preview: Truman State and #8 Harding

LAWTON – The road will not get any easier with Cameron (0-4) who pays a visit for a pair of games in Canyon to face Truman State and Harding on Friday and Saturday.  Both teams earned votes in the latest WBCA Poll with Harding coming in at number-8 nationally, and Truman earning 32 votes.  This will be CU's second meeting with Harding this season with HU taking a 115-84 contest in the opening weekend of the season.

A quick look at the Lady Bisons: After beating Cameron 115-84 in the opening weekend of the season, HU went on to take down number-22 ranked Delta State and Southwestern Oklahoma 105-69 on Saturday.  This will be Harding's first contest of the regular season outside of their home court where they have averaging nearly 89 points per game and shooting 47.5 percent on the floor.  The Lady Bisons are holding teams to 62 points a game and 33.9 percent shooting on their side of the court.  Despite scoring a program high 115 points against the Aggies, Cameron's 84 points is the most that a HU team has allowed in 44 contests.  Arielle Saunders is leading HU with 17 points per game, with Montana Lewis, and Corey Moyer both netting at least 10 per game.

A quick look at the Bulldogs: The Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday night against number-10 ranked Pittsburg (Kan.) 102-45 on Truman's home court.  Truman had one field goal in the final 10:15 seconds of the game after shooting 26.1 percent in the loss.  In their four games this season, TSU averaging just over 73 points per game and sits at a +7 in rebound margin.   The Bulldogs have a pair averaging over 10 points per game with Courtney Strait netting 14.5 to lead her team, and Allie Norton adding 12.8 points.  Truman is 2-1 against the Aggies with the last game played being a 77-76 double overtime loss in 2008 at the Texas Women's Classic. All three games played have been neutral site games, a 73-64 win in 1995 in San Angelo, Texas and a 56-47 victory in Springfield, Missouri in 2002.

Looking Forward: Cameron paces the Lone Star Conference with 7.5 three-pointers per game and shooting 36.1 from the arc, with Brandi Leal and Jade Herl inside the top-3 in averaging three-pointers made per game in the league.  The Aggies have averaged 67 points per game with Jazzmine Robinson leading CU with 12.8 points per game, with both Leal and Herl averaging at least 10 points per game this season.  Robinson also paces the Aggies with just over nine boards per contest.

Up next: Cameron will have their home opener on Saturday, Dec. 6 against Southwestern Oklahoma.
