Aggies head to Canyon to face #5 Lady Buffs

Tip Off
The Aggie women are back at .500 on the season after winning their third conference game of the season against Eastern New Mexico. Still very much in the playoff picture, CU will need to get a couple of wins in their last four contests. They face a tough road that starts by heading to #5 West Texas A&M, who they have struggled with in the past.

Last Time Out for CU
Just days after beating Tarleton State, the Aggies welcomed Eastern New Mexico into the Aggie Gym, and went for their best shooting night of the season. CU shot 52% from the field and 50% from behind the arc to get the 76-63 win over the Zias. Cameron got 30 points in the paint, 15 off turnovers, and 27 off the bench to maintain the lead from the opening tip to the final buzzer. Ali Brown made a career high four three-pointers to set a career high with 19 points to lead all scorers in the game. Brown also led the team in rebounds, pulling down eight boards. The Ags also got double digit nights from Jazzmine Robinson and Christina Caddy, who had 15 and 14 points respectively. The Zias were led by Jaylyn Cooper with 14 points.

Against West Texas A&M
The Aggies have had tough sledding against the Lady Buffs in the past, winning only three of their 36 meetings. Their last win was a 60-56 win two years ago.

Last Time Against WT
Cameron hosted at that time #7 West Texas on Jan. 11th for the Aggies first conference home game. The Lady Buffs got 13 point games from Devin Griffen and Chontiquah White, and used 30 points off the bench to get the 73-66 victory over the Aggies. Both teams shot 41% from the field and were both over 80% from the free throw line. The Aggies shot 40% from behind the arc, and got 16 points from Robinson, 12 from Lacy Reinke, and 11 from Caddy in the losing effort.

Scouting the Lady Buffs
The Lady Buffs are the fifth ranked team in the nation, and boast a 20-1 record with a perfect 11-0 LSC mark. Since there lone loss to #7 Emporia State, WT has gone on a 13 game winning streak. They have also won their last 12 games when playing in Canyon.

Apart from leading the LSC in scoring, the Lady Buffs are the 10th best offense and the top scoring margin in the nation. They are third in field goal percentage, fifth in three point percentage, and second in assists per game in the country.

Individually, Griffen is fourth in the LSC in points per game, and 11th in rebounding, averaging 14.6 and 6.1 per game. Just behind her is White, who averages 12.8 and 6.1. Additionally, WT also has Casey land, who averages 10.6 points a game and is third in the LSC with 2.2 steals a game.

LSC Stack Up
The Aggies are fourth in the LSC in scoring offense and scoring defense, and third in scoring margin at 6.6. CU is now second in the league in three pointers made with 7.5 per game and in three point percentage (.369). Additionally, CU is third in both rebounding and blocked shots per game.

Individually, Jazzmine Robinson is 10th in the LSC with 12.1 points a game, and is ninth in rebounds, four spots in front of Ali Brown, one spot behind Lacy Reinke, and four spots behind Christina Caddy, who moved into fifth in rebounding with her 20 board game against TSU. Chelsea Stamp and Jade Herl are the top two in three pointers made and three point percentage, and are both in the top-30 in points per game, along with teammates Robinson, Brown, and Caddy. Brittany Harris is second in assists per game (4.6) and assist/turnover ratio, while Reinke has fallen to third in blocks with 22 total and an average of 1.0 per game.

Coming Up
Cameron will only have three games left after their battle with West Texas. They will host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Feb. 19 and then head to San Angelo to face the Rambelles on Feb. 22. The Aggies will then close out the season, hosting rival Midwestern State on March 1 for homecoming and senior night.
