Tip Off
After a loss to #5 West Texas A&M, the Cameron women now sit at 11-12 and have three games left before the end of the season. With a 3-10 Lone Star Conference mark, the Aggies lie just outside of the top eight spots that get into the conference tournament. The game against Texas A&M-Kingsville will say a lot about the CU women's playoff picture. The Javelinas are just two spots ahead of the Aggies in the Standings and with an Aggie win on Wednesday, the two teams could be tied for that seventh spot with 4-10 records.
Last Time Out for CU
Just as the Aggies looked like they were going to get back to their winning ways, the faced the #5 team in the nation in West Texas A&M on the road and losses 83-57. Cameron put up a fight and led or had the score tied through the first 10 minutes of play, but at about the nine minute mark, the Lady Buffs found their stride and took a 13 point lead into the half. In the second half, WT caught fire from the field, shooting above 50% and hitting four out of their seven three point attempts to extend the lead. Against Texas A&M-Kingsville
The loss to the Javelinas earlier this season gave them the series lead over the Aggies 17-16. TAMUK has won four out of the last five meeting between the teams.
Last Time Against TAMUK
When the Aggies traveled to Kingsville earlier this season, they scored their lowest point total of the season in the 60-48. Cameron shot just 39% from the field, 26% from behind the arc, and hit five out of 10 from the free throw line. They also turned the ball over a season high 29 times thanks to 14 Javelina steals. Caddy led the Aggies with 14 points and nine rebounds, while Ruby Robertson had 14 points for TAMUK, while Sheana Jones and Rosalie Cutri added 13 and 12 points of their own.
Scouting the Javelinas
After starting out the year with a 5-5 non-conference record the Javelinas have gone 4-9 in conference play, and sit in the seventh spot in the LSC standings. They have gone 2-3 in their last five games, and most recently lost to Tarleton State, 72-55 on Feb. 15.
A&M-Kingsville likes to control the turnover battle, owning the second best turnover margin in the conference, thanks to their league leading 11.52 steals per game. They average just over 20 turnovers per game, and force close to 24 from their opponents, giving them a margin of 3.26. Nationally, they are 10th in steals and 41st in turnover margin.
Their leading scorer is Lindsey Mahone, who is fifth in the LSC with 13.5 points per game and fourth in rebounding with 7.3 boards per contest. She is also fourth in the league with 2.1 steals per game, and shoots just at .400 percent from the field. They also have Ashley Viera, who averages 10.9 points per game, with a team leading three assists per game. Viera is also the teams leading threat from behind the arc, hitting 33 three pointers this season. Rosalie Cutri is tied for the LSC league in steals with 2.3 per game, and also averages 8.8 points per game.

CU is tops in the league in three pointers made with 7.6 per game and second in three point percentage (.371). On Defense, the Aggies have the second best scoring defense in the LSC and have fallen to fourth in blocks with 2.57 per game.

Jade Herl are the top two in three pointers made and three point percentage, and are both in the top-29 in points per game, along with teammates Robinson, Brown, and Caddy.
Brittany Harris is second in assists per game (4.5) and assist/turnover ratio, while Reinke has fallen to third in blocks with 23 total and an average of 1.0 per game.
Coming Up
After the matchup with the Javelinas, Cameron has only two games left. They will head to San Angelo to face the Rambelles on Feb. 22, then the Aggies will close out the season, hosting rival Midwestern State on March 1 for homecoming and senior night.
