Box Score LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron softball team had no trouble earning their thirteenth win of the season after taking down Eastern New Mexico 8-0 in five innings at McMahon Field on Saturday afternoon.
With the win Cameron (13-5) took the three game series and moved to 2-1 in Lone Star Conference play.
The Aggies jumped ahead early with
Misty Dooley scoring the first run of the game off of a passed ball in the first inning.
Cameron's scoring continued in the second inning with a
Paige Daino hitting first career homer over the right field wall to score two more runs.
Sonora Zukerman matched Daino with her sixth homer of the season in the third to score
Tara Martini in from second to give CU the 5-0 advantage.
In the fourth the Aggies took advantage of a pair of Zia errors to score two more runs to give them the 7-0 lead.
With two outs Cameron took care of business in the fifth after
Carly Allerheiligen tripled to right field.
Makenzie Burk followed the triple and dropped down a suicide squeeze bunt to bring Allerheiligen home to run rule the Zias 8-0.
The Aggies had six players with a hit with Zukerman and Daino both having a pair of RBI.
Kelsey Watson (6-3) won her third decision in a row and held Eastern New Mexico to only two hits in the complete game win.
Cameron will travel to Oklahoma Christian on Tuesday, March 4 for a non-conference doubleheader.
