Aggies fall to Midwestern State but clinch berth in LSC Tournament

Box Score LAWTON, Okla. -- The Aggies fell in the home finale after a tough night shooting against Midwestern State, 91-58 to finish the regular season 13-13 overall and 5-11 in the conference.

However, the team will live to see another day after a loss by Eastern New Mexico against West Texas A&M puts Cameron into the Lone Star Conference tournament as the eight seed.

To celebrate Senior Night, Head Coach Tom Webb started all five of his seniors.

MSU started the game on a 7-0 run, but CU fought back to get within three. Turnovers and missed layups allowed the Mustangs to go on an 11-0 run to take a 20-6 lead. From there, Cameron continued to struggle from the field and would never have the MSU within single digits.

The Ags were led offensively by Jazzmine Robinson and Ali Brown who both had 11 points. Brown was a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line. Christina Caddy also had a strong game with seven points and a team high eight rebounds. Midwestern had five players that scored in double-figures, led by Taylor Dowd's 16.

The Aggies were outrebounded 40-26, but scored 16 points off of 18 Mustang turnovers. CU shot 30.4% from the field and went 22-33 from the free throw line. MSU went 10-17 from behind the arc and shot 56.9% from the field.

The Aggies will face top seeded West Texas A&M in the first round of the Lone Star Conference tournament on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 pm.
