Box Score 2 KINGSVILLE, Texas –
Kelsey Watson tossed a no-hitter as Cameron went onto taking down Texas A&M Kingsville 4-1 and 5-0 on Friday evening.
Watson would use only 42 pitches to mow through Javelina batters for her tenth win of the season; last week she flirted with a no-no with a one-hitter against USAO in Lawton.
The two wins sends Cameron to 21-11 overall and 7-7 in the Lone Star Conference, the victory also pushed Cameron over the 20 win mark for the eleventh time in program history.
Tara Martini was held without a RBI for the first time in eight contests in game one but she would collect a hit in both contests to push Martini's streak to 13 games. Martini would collect a pair of doubles in Friday night's games with two RBI in the nightcap.
In game one,
Emily Nix had a pair of hits and RBI to lead Cameron, with
Misty Dooley and
Paige Daino adding a pair of hits.
Sam Betts (9-5) held Texas A&M Kingsville to only three hits while striking out five in the win.Â
Cameron will wrap up their series on Saturday at 1 pm with a doubleheader. Â
