LAWTON -- The Cameron University women's basketball team will look to extend their four game conference win streak against Angelo State, Saturday in San Angelo, Texas. CU is currently in first place in the Lone Star Conference standings and has won there last two road contests, while the Rambelles have yet to get a win in conference play.

The team has won four straight games in Lone Star Conference play, and since starting the season 1-6 has won seven of their last eight games. Cameron's lone league loss was to a ranked West Texas A&M team on the road. Since then, the Ags streak has earned them a half a game lead over the Lady Buffs for first place in the LSC standings. Their latest victory was a 66-58 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville on Wednesday night.
Brandi Leal knocked down six three pointers and had a game high 20 points in the win over the Javelinas, while
Jazzmine Robinson added 11 points and seven rebounds to the attack.

In the overall series between the Aggies and the Rambelles, ASU has the edge with a 26-22 lead over CU. Last season, the two teams split the series, with the Rambelles winning 71-61 at the Aggie Gym and the Aggies getting a 63-59 win in San Angelo. In their last game against ASU, Cameron used over 40 percent shooting from the field and behind the arc, and over 90 percent shooting from the free throw line to get the win. Robinson led the team with 19 points, going 8-8 from the free throw line, and also added eight rebounds.

About Angelo State: Angelo State started out the season going 5-5 in their non-conference games, getting victories over CSU-Pueblo, McMurry twice, St. Edward's, and Arlington Baptist. Since then, they have gone 0-6 to in LSC play, with their last loss coming against Midwestern State, 69-61.

As a team, the Rambelles are scoring 62.9 points per game, while holding opponents to 65.7 points per contest. They are second in the LSC in terms of shooting defense, with their opponents shooting just 38.5 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from behind the arc. ASU is first in the league in defensive rebounds (26.6 per game), and average 39.8 total boards per contest.

Jasmine Caston leads ASU and is fifth in the LSC with 13.7 points per game, while also leading the team in steals with 25 on the season. Also scoring in double figures is Amanda Weaver, who scores 10.3 points per contest, and also leads the Rambelles in assists (2.4 apg) and three point shooting, with 2.3 per game and a .409 three point percentage, which is second best in the LSC.

Live by the Three: The Aggies have showed that one of the best weapons in their arsenal this season is the three point shot. Not only does Cameron lead the LSC in three pointers made and three point percentage, but they are also 10th in the nation with 8.1 three point shots made per game, and hit a seventh best 38.7 percent of their shots from behind the arc.
Individually,
Brandi Leal leads the conference and is second in the nation with 3.6 three balls per contest, while
Jade Herl is second in the conference and 33rd in the nation with 2.8. They are both in the top-5 in three point percentage in the conference, while Herl is 45th in the nation at 40.8 percent and Leal is 60th at 38.8 percent.
