LAWTON -- The red hot Aggies will host the first half of this season's Red River Rivalry on Saturday, as they welcome Midwestern State to the Aggie Gym. Cameron has won five straight in Lone Star Conference play and sits in a tie for first in the LSC standings with a 6-1 league mark, while MSU sits in third at 6-2 in conference play and ranked 22nd in the D2 Media Poll.Â

First Tip: Cameron has won five straight Lone Star Conference games, and has also won their last four contests at the Aggie Gym. Since starting the season 1-6, the Aggies have won eight out their last nine contests. Their last victory came on the road against Angelo State, where they won 80-69.
Brandi Leal knocked down six triples and scored 18 points, while
Jazzmine Robinson added 17 points and six rebounds.
Saturday's meeting with MSU will be the 66th meeting between the two teams, dating back to the 1975-76 season. The Mustangs lead the overall series 41-24, and have won the last six meetings against the Ags, including a 91-58 victory of Cameron when they visited the Aggie Gym last season.
About Midwestern State: The Mustangs head to Lawton on a two game win streak having beaten Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville in their last two contests. Prior to that, MSU lost back to back LSC games against Tarleton State and Texas Woman's which dropped them from the national rankings.
MSU is the leading defense in the LSC, holding teams to just 58.6 points per game, and average 69 points per game on offense. They also block a league best 4.44 shots per game, which is 25th nationally. As a team they shoot 41 percent from the field, 31 percent from behind the arc, and a conference leading 76 percent from the charity stripe.
Individually, Dianna Jones is third in the LSC with 14 points per contest, while Andrea Carter is sixth with 13.3. Carter also leads the conference in rebounding, averaging 9.7 per game and is third in steals with 2.1 per contest. D. Jones is third in the LSC with 3.6 assists per game, while Shambreka Jones is leading the league and is 28th nationally with 2.2 blocks per game. Additionally, Lisa Hampton ranks first in the LSC and 32nd nationally with a .416 three point percentage, while hitting 2.4 long range shots per contest.
Leading the Nation: After hitting six three pointers in back to back games,
Brandi Leal took over the top spot in the nation with 3.75 three point shots made per contest. Leal was also named Oklahoma Sports Net Player of the Week for her two game average of 19 points and six three pointers against the Javelinas and the Rambelles. During the Aggies five game win streak, Leal has averaged 15 points per contest, scoring 20 points twice, and knocked down 23 shots from behind the arc. She has hit six three pointers in three of the last four contests. Additionally, she is fourth in the conference and 46th nationally, hitting 40 percent of her shots from behind the arc.
The Aggies as a team are 10th in the nation and lead the LSC with 8.1 three pointers per game, and are sixth nationally, hitting 39.2 percent of their shots from three point range.
Jade Herl is also a top three point shooter, knocking down 2.8 three pointers per game, which is 38th in the nation, at a .407 clip, which is 40th.
