Live VideoGame NotesFirst tip:Â The Aggies will open their season at home for the first time in four years, and it is the first time in five years that Cameron starts their year at home against a NCAA Division II opponent. Â Additionally, this is the first time in the known history of women's basketball at Cameron that they will start the season with a home weekday afternoon contest. Additionally, there will be over 400 children in attendance with CU inviting local elementary schools to the Aggie Gym.
Â
About Harding:Â The Lady Bison were picked to finish second in the Great American Conference following a 23-7 campaign in 2014-15 where they won the GAC Tournament title and went to the NCAA Tournament. Â Harding will be looking to rebuild after losing GAC Player of the Year Arielle Saunders and Second-Team All-GAC guard Montana Lewis. They return A'ndrea Haney, an Honorable Mention All-GAC selection last season and Sydney Layrock, the MVP of the GAC Championships. Â
CU vs. HU Series:Â This will be the eleventh time that the Aggies and Lady Bison have met with HU leading the overall series 4-6. Â Last season both teams faced each other with Harding winning 115-84 on their home court and Cameron winning 76-70 on a neutral floor at West Texas A&M. Â On the floor of the Aggie Gym, the series is tied at 2-2 with Harding last visiting on Feb. 24, 2000.Â
About East Central:Â The Tigers collected 42 total points in the GAC preseason poll and was picked to finish in 10th place. ECU finished the 2014-15 season with a 15-12 overall record and was bounced out of the GAC tournament in the opening round. Â This season's ECU squad has no seniors and six juniors. Â The Tigers lost their top four leading scorers in the off-season with Jalyn Jackson as the lone starter returning. Â Jackson started in 21 contests averaging 23 minutes and six boards.
Â
CU vs. ECU Series: The Tigers and Aggies have a longer history with each other dating back to the early 1980s with current records handing ECU a 19-21 series lead over Cameron.  However, the Aggies have controlled their home court with a 12-6 advantage over their foes from Ada.  Last season, the Aggies fell at East Central in a high scoring 90-81 contest.
Fan vote:Â On the Cameron Athletics Twitter page, with 57% of the vote the women's basketball will open their 2015-16 season in their black uniforms. Â This was the first uniform twitter vote in the Lone Star Conference and the first time in over four years that the Aggies have used a black jersey at home.
Â
From two to four:The largest change to women's basketball is the switch from 20 minute halves to 10 minute quarters at all levels of NCAA play.  Teams will now reach the bonus and shoot two free throws on the fifth team foul in each quarter instead of after seven fouls. One-and-one free-throw situations have also been eliminated. The team foul count will restart each quarter, but if a team is in the bonus in the fourth quarter, they will remain so for the remainder of the game should it go into overtime.
Preseason expectations:Â The Aggies enter the season being picked as the fourth best team out of the Lone Star Conference with a first place vote. Â In the 2014-15 season, Cameron went 12-4 in league play, which was a program high for LSC wins, and was selected as an at-large team to the NCAA National Tournament.
Â
Tough start:Â Cameron will open their season with an entire NCAA Division II slate that went a combined 172-113 last season (.603 winning percentage) with three teams winning their league's tournament title and making the NCAA Tournament. Â Of the 10 non-conference meetings, three had a losing record last season.
Â
Long-range Leal:Â Brandi Leal enters her senior campaign as one of the most dangerous threats from beyond-the-arc in the nation. Â In 27 contests, she averaged 3.56 three-pointers per game which was 0.01 off from the national Division II mark and sixth highest across all divisions. Â Leal also had a season program mark with 96 treys which was sixth highest in Division II (all five players ahead played 30+ contests) and with 14th most in all levels of play. Â In the postseason, the Amarillo, Texas native was the Lone Star Conference newcomer of the year.
Â
Coach of the Year: Â The 2015-16 season will be Head Coach
Tom Webb's eighth season at Cameron. He was named 2015 LSC Coach of the Year after guiding the Aggies from a 1-6 start to finish the regular season winning 14 out of their last 18 contests.
