Additionally, the contest was a season best shooting night for the team with the Aggies going 45.8% on the floor.
About UA-Fort Smith: The Lady Lions are on a five game winning streak after opening the season with a 75-69 loss to Colorado Mesa. Last time out for UAFS, they bombarded Midwestern State with a 42 point, 100-58 win in Fort Smith. At the end of the month of November, the Lady Lions were averged the fourth most three-pointers in the nation with 10.8 and they are 14th best at the arc with a 41.4%. Senior Jasmine Brainard leads the UAFS squad in points and rebounds with 13.7 points per game and five boards. UA-Fort Smith won the 2015 Heartland Conference overall and tournament titles to get an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament where they were the number-5 seed. This season the Lady Lions were picked to finish runner up behind Lubbock Christian in their league's preseason poll.
CU vs. UAFS series: This is the second year in a row and second time overall that the Aggies and Lady Lions have faced each other. CU's last clash with UA-Fort Smith happened in the 2014-15 opener with the Lady Lions winning 78-51 on their home court.
