Aggies look to keep hot start going in Texas

The Starting Five
1.    The Aggies are off the their best start in program history with a 7-1 overall record besting their previous mark of 6-1 which was set during the 1982 season.
2.    With eight games recorded, Paige Daino leads the Lone Star Conference with five home runs.
3.    Carly Allerheiligen has the top conference batting average a .565 with 13 hits, and 10 runs scored.
4.    In her first week in the circle since her freshman year, Sonora Zukerman is a perfect 3-0.
5.    Cameron leads the LSC with a .404 team batting average.

CU Notebook
- Breezy McComas has an eight game hitting streak to start the season.
- Tara Martini needs 12 doubles to tie Megan Young (2006-09) who had 55 doubles in her four year career at Cameron.  Martini also needs 33 RBI to be CU's all-time leader, Young holds the program mark with 165. 
- Both Sonora Zukerman and Martini are tied for sixth all-time at Cameron with 21 career blasts.
- Misty Dooley needs nine runs to move up to second all-time at Cameron, presently she is at 109.
- The Aggies were selected fifth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll.
- Cameron posted their best winning percentage in program history (.596) after finishing with a 31-21 overall record and third highest win total.
- The Aggies have two (Macy McKay and Lauren Renneker) who were on squads that reached the College World Series, McKay in 2012 with Central Oklahoma and Renneker in 2014 with Southeastern Oklahoma; both are Lawton natives.
- Cameron has 10 players who came from the same high school (MacArthur, Cache, Denton-Ryan).
- Lauren Renneker's mother Gladys, coached the Aggie softball program from 1997-2005 and is Cameron's winningest coach with 170 wins.
- There are seven players on Cameron's roster than are from Lawton, with six playing at MacArthur High School.
- Established in 1977, Cameron has the longest continually operating softball program in the Lone Star Conference. 

UT-Permian Basin (2-8)
- The two wins of the season for UTPB came against Western Oregon and University of the Southwest, with a combined record of 7-14. 
- JJ Von Oesen is UTPB's main offensive threat at the plate with three homers and 10 RBI, she is batting .286 at the plate.  Irene Valdez has reched base in all nine game that she has played and leads the Falcons with a .448 batting average.  
- UTPB pitching has a combined 7.11 ERA and has surrendered 11 homers, while allowing 87 runs.  
- The Falcons were picked to finish seventh in the Heartland Conference after finishing with a 13-40 overall record and a 10-14 league record.
- Aggies have faced the their future league foe four times with CU leading the series 3-1.
- UTPB is led by Tiala Tagaloa who in her first season after spending nine seasons as an Assistant at New Mexico State

Lubbock Christian (8-1)
- Led by junior pitcher/outfielder Ashton Bell who was one of the 50 nationally who were on the Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II National Player of the Year Watchlist.
- Picked to win the 2015 Heartland title with 12 first place votes, however as a NCAA Provisional member they are not eligible for postseason competition. 
- Sydney Beuthien leads LCU with five home runs and 15 RBI, while batting .467 at the plate.
- Used six pitchers inside the circle and batters have hit .220 against LCU.
- First meeting with the Aggies.
- Led by fifth year coach Daren Hays who has an overall record of 222-41, coached baseball at LCU for eight seasons, and posted a 356-163 overall record.

Oklahoma Panhandle  (5-6)
- Team is hitting .267 with 37 RBI and one home run this season in 11 games.
- Cameron is 15-7 against the Panhandle Aggies and has won the last eight meetings.
- Samantha Arledge leads the OPSU pitching staff with a 3.16 ERA and has struck out 41 batters in 27 2/3 innings; she has been used in nine of the 11 games this season
- Picked to finish last in the Heartland Conference after a 10-37 season.
- Led by Meghan Mulcahy who is in her fourth season at OPSU and has a 41-118 coaching record for the Aggies.

Texas Wesleyan (3-2)
- Have two wins against NAIA nationally-ranked teams (#18 University of Houston-Victoria #10 Belhaven)
- Team is batting .328 at the plate with 20 RBI and they have yet to hit a homerun.
- Top two pitchers have a 1.00 ERA in 20 2/3 innings of work.
- Picked to finish fourth in the Sooner Athletic Conference after they went 24-26 last season and 15-17 in conference play in 2014.
- Aggies trail the overall series 4-9, but this will be the first meeting with the Rams since 2003.
- Led by Shannon Gower who is the longest tenured coach in Texas Wesleyan has won 253 contests.

Baker (1-3)
- Has been out-scored 36-5 in four contests this season.
- Team is hitting .143 with 12 hits and one homerun.
- Pitching staff has a combined 7.43 ERA with 13 strikeouts, in  21 2/3 innings of work.
- Upset number-21 Oklahoma Baptist 1-0 last weekend.
- First meeting since 2003 with Cameron leading the series 3-0.
- Led by Jamie Stanclift who has a 22-24 overall record in one season at Baker.

Last Time Out
- Cameron went 5-1 against RMAC schools in a crossover at Canyon, Texas.
- The Aggies pounded in 58 runs in their last five contests.
- Tara Martini had an inside the park homerun and six RBI against Colorado School of Mines.
- Jessie Ingrum hit her first career homer,
- Paige Daino had four hits in five trips at the plate in CU's last contest.

Coming Up
The Aggies will travel to Texas A&M-Commerce for the first time in program history and will open league action with Friday and Saturday doubleheader.
