Softball faces Lions and opens LSC play at home against Javelinas

The Starting Five
1.    The Aggies are off to their best start in program history with a 13-2 overall record, and it is the fastest a Cameron team has won ten or more contests.
2.    Cameron leads the Lone Star Conference with 33 homeruns, Paige Daino, Lauren Renneker and Tara Martini all lead the LSC with eight home runs.
3.    Cameron has played two contests in the last 16 days.
4.    Lauren Renneker has homered in four straight games.
5.    Wednesday's contest with the Lions is a non-conference doubleheader and will not count in the LSC standings.  The contest does count in CU and A&M-C's in-region NCAA record.

- Chelsea DeLong presently has an 11 game hitting streak.
- Through 15 games, CU has 33 total home runs which is fourth best in the nation, and they have the second highest slugging percentage (.719). Additionally, the Aggies have the fourth best batting average (.395) in NCAA Division II softball through Monday's statistical release. 
- Paige Daino, Tara Martini, and Lauren Renneker all are tied for the LSC lead in homers and they are tied for fifth in the nation; with 29 RBI Daino is sixth nationally and second in the LSC.
- Tara Martini needs 12 doubles to tie Megan Young (2006-09) who had 55 doubles in her four year career at Cameron.  Martini also needs 23 RBI to be CU's all-time leader, Young holds the program mark with 165. 
- Martini has moved up to fifth all-time at Cameron with 26 homers.
- Misty Dooley needs two runs to move up to second all-time at Cameron, presently she is at 115, Martini is tied for third all-time with 112. 
- Kelsey Watson earned her second career LSC Pitcher of the Week award following a near flawless weekend where she tossed 10 1/3 innings with no runs given up and 18 strikeouts; she also allowed no walks.
- The Aggies were selected fifth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll.
- Cameron posted their best winning percentage in program history (.596) after finishing with a 31-21 overall record and third highest win total.
- The Aggies have two (Macy McKay and Lauren Renneker) who were on squads that reached the College World Series, McKay in 2012 with Central Oklahoma and Renneker in 2014 with Southeastern Oklahoma; both are Lawton natives.
- Cameron has 10 players who came from the same high school (MacArthur, Cache, Denton-Ryan).
- Lauren Renneker's mother Gladys, coached the Aggie softball program from 1997-2005 and is Cameron's winningest coach with 170 wins.
- There are seven players on Cameron's roster than are from Lawton, with six playing at MacArthur High School.
- Established in 1977, Cameron has the longest continually operating softball program in the Lone Star Conference. 

Texas A&M-Commerce (12-8) | Live Stats
- The Lions are 8-0 at home this season.
- This will be the first ever trip to Commerce for the Aggies.
- The Lions are led by Richie Brewster who isn't a stranger to the Aggies for the LSC; Brewster led Texas Woman's for five seasons (2009-13) and complied a 184-98 record.  He was 9-3 against the Aggies at TWU.
- Texas A&M-Commerce has played two games since Feb. 22, which was a LSC doubleheader against Texas A&M-Kingsville. 
- A&M-Commerce is batting .307 which is second to last in the LSC, in the circle both the Lions and Aggies have near the same ERA (3.28 CU vs. 3.30 A&M-C).
- Both the Lions and Aggies are one and two in the LSC in fielding percentage, the Aggies have a league low 13 errors but A&M-Commerce has played five additional games.
- League best 60 stolen bases this season, Monica Cherry, Magen Lynch, and Baylea Higgs all have over 10 stolen bases with a 90 percent success rate.

- The Aggies are 14-10 against the Javelinas and CU has won the last seven outings between the two programs.
- This is the third visit to Lawton for Texas A&M-Kingsville and longest series between the two programs.  Cameron took a three game series in 2013 and Texas A&M-Kingsville won a game in 2000.
- Holds a 5-1 record at home, but a 2-7 record away from Kingsville.
- Carlie Clark has the second highest batting average in the LSC with a .529, she also is a threat in the circle with 20 1/3 innings pitched and a team high 25 strikeouts. 
- Split a doubleheader with Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday but rain would cancel the second half of the series.
- Led by Betsy Dean who is in her first season at Texas A&M-Kingsville after spending two seasons at Seton Hall University as the pitching coach

Cameron will travel north to play a non-conference doubleheader against Oklahoma Christian on Mar. 17.
