Brandi Leal knocked down four three-pointers, all of which were in the first half and sits at 166 in her two seasons at Cameron tied for the program mark with Brittany Cooksey (2001-06); Leal would finish the night with 16 points.
Dayla Threatt led CU with 20 points, and she had five rebounds;
DJ Vallier had 12 points along with eight boards and five blocks.
About Angelo State: Angelo State sits in second place in the Lone Star Conference standings at 9-3 in the league and 16-6 overall. In the LSC, the Rambelles have dropped two contests with Tarleton State and one with Cameron in the Aggie Gym. On the season, ASU is 11-2 on their home court. Since conference play's beginning, the Rambelles have averaged 77.2 points per game while allowing 73.7 on the opponents' side of the floor. Jasmine Prophet (15.2 ppg), Taylor Dorsey (14.3 ppg), and Brea Mitchell (13.1 ppg) make up ASU's three-prong offensive attack averaging over ten points per outing.
Last Time vs. Angelo State:Â Cameron lived at the arc and halted a three game Angelo State winning streak in overtime in their first meeting earlier this season in Lawton. The Aggies tossed up 40 shots and sank 13 at the three-point line to beat ASU 87-83 to close out their home stand with a victory. The contest was the Aggies' first overtime contest in two seasons, which was a 76-72 win on Feb. 8, 2014 over Tarleton State in Lawton.
Brandi Leal led the Ags with 23 points and was one short of tying her own threepoint record with seven made shots from beyond the arc.
Dayla Threatt picked up her first career double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Brittney Hill and
Charron Montgomery also hit doublefigures with 10 points each; Montgomery would add five assists.
The Aggies won the rebounding battle with 45, which was six more than ASU;
DJ Vallier came off the CU bench and had seven boards and six points. Angelo State would shoot the ball better at a 47.8% clip compared to the Aggies' 42.9%; the difference would be CU's 13 treys, nearly doubling the Rambelles' seven. At the end of the night, turnovers assisted ASU down the stretch with the 14 CU miscues allowing for ten extra points for the visitors from San Angelo.
