Live VideoGame NotesFirst Tip:Â The Aggies could never find a rhythm in a poor shooting night for Cameron and Texas A&M-Commerce, but it would be the Lions picking up a 53-47 home win in Commerce on Wednesday night. The 47 points scored by the Aggies is a season low and snapped CU's four game streak. The Aggies out-rebounded the Lions 51-to-46 but 23 turnovers and going 5-for-13 at the free throw line proved to be their undoing.
Charron Montgomery led the Aggies with 13 points,
Brandi Leal was a point back with four made three-pointers. Â
DJ Vallier had a pair of blocks with eight boards and
Savanna James also had eight rebounds. The Aggies sit in fourth place with a one game lead over Tarleton State.
About Tarleton State:Â The TexAnns are one game back of CU in the Lone Star Conference with a 5-5 LSC record and 11-9 overall record. TSU is coming off two wins over A&M-Commerce and Midwestern State but have dropped their last two road contests to MSU and West Texas A&M. The squad is 1-4 on the road this season. The TexAnns are led by Bailey Wipff who scores 13.8 ppg for second best in the league. She is also first from the charity stripe, shooting 86.2%, and third in 3-pt field goal percentages (42.1%) and three-pointers per game (2.4). Ikpeaku Iwobi is the team's leading rebounder with 8.1 boards per game and Morgan Ashmore records 3.4 assists per game.
Last Time vs. Tarleton State:Â A big third quarter for the Cameron women and a career high 30 point effort from
Dayla Threatt gave the Aggies a big 83-71 win in their first meeting at Tarleton State. Cameron's win was the sixth in a row over the TexAnns and the Ags first Lone Star Conference victory. The Aggies trailed as many as ten points but turned the corner in the middle stages of the contest and outscored TSU 43-26 in the second and third quarters.
Threatt's 30 points was a season high for the Ags and the first time since Nov. 29, 2014 that a Cameron player hit 30 points;
Jazzmine Robinson was last to accomplish this feat with 31 points against Truman State. As a team CU was one short of 50 rebounds,
Markita Zeigler didn't score any points but had a team high nine boards. Â Threatt had eight and
Cristina Soriano added seven.  The Aggies would out-rebound Tarleton State by three. Cameron shot 29-for-66 from the field and went 5-for-15 at the arc, Tarleton State shot 25-for-73 and 6-for-16 from downtown.Â
CU vs. TSU:Â Cameron has had the TexAnns number in the last few season by winning the last six meetings. Â However, this came after Tarleton State won eight straight against the Aggies. Heading into the game on Saturday, the Aggies lead the overall series, 15-13 and oddly have a better record at Tarleton State than in Lawton. Â Cameron is 6-6 on the floor of the Aggie Gym and at Tarleton State they are 8-7. Â Head Coach
Tom Webb in his 12 meetings is .500 in eight seasons at Cameron.
