CU women continue LSC action with Javelinas, Rambelles

Starting 5: 
1. Lejha Smith is the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week after averaging 13 rebounds and two blocks during the last two-game weekend.
2. Smith leads the LSC and is ranked ninth nationally in rebounding, while ranking 10th in blocks per game.
3. The Aggie's 581 mile journey to Texas A&M-Kingsville takes approximately nine hours.

About the Aggies: Cameron is 3-4 and 1-1 in the Lone Star Conference after splitting their league opening weekend with Texas A&M-Commerce and Tarleton State. The Aggies are averaging an LSC bet 71.6 points per game behind the league's leading scorer, Jamie Bonnarens, who averages 18.1 points per game. Bonnarens has been CU's top scorer in three of their last four contests, with LSC Defensive Player of the Week, Lejha Smith, being the top rebounder in all seven games and leads the LSC with 12.1 boards a game.

Scouting the Javelinas: TAMUK is 3-6 overall and 0-2 in the league, and they have dropped their last four contests. They do not score many points against the opposition, averaging a league worst 50.9 points per game and haven't tallied more than 50 points in four of their last five contests. The Javelinas struggle with accuracy as they are at the bottom of the conference with 31 percent from the floor and 21 percent from deep, averaging just 2.7 treys per game. They also turn the ball over an average of 18 times per contest. Angelica Wilson averages a team high 7.6 ppg, with Shaq Debose averaging 6.6 ppg. They have the fifth and sixth top rebounders in the LSC as Wilson grabs eight boards a game, and Tatyana McFarland 7.5 rebounds a contest.

Scouting the Rambelles: Angelo State is 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the LSC after beating Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas Woman's to start league play. The Rambelles are scoring 69 points per game behind leading scorers De'Anira Moore at 12.6 ppg, and Madi Greenwood 12.4 ppg. Moore, a 6'4 forward, is averaging a double-double with 11 boards per game, and also has a league best three blocks per game. Greenwood is 19-for-19 from the stripe this season. The Rambelles are scoring 69 ppg, shooting 37 percent from the field, 33 percent from three, and top the league in free throw shooting at 76 percent.

Looking Back: The Aggies went 1-1 in their Lone Star Conference opening weekend, falling to Texas A&M-Commerce in overtime, 79-69, on Thursday and defeating Tarleton State on Saturday, 70-63. Jamie Bonnarens led the way averaging 22.5 points with an average of 14 points in the second half. She also grabbed 9.5 rebounds per game, while Lejha Smith averaged 13 boards per contest.
 
Looking Ahead: Cameron will play a pair of non-conference games at Lubbock Christian on Dec. 16 and UCO on Dec. 18.
