FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Cameron men's tennis team started off their five game road stretch with a 9-0 win over Arkansas Fort Smith on Friday.
CU started out winning all three of the doubles matches, with
Mateo Velasco and
Felipe Oyarzun winning the one doubles match 8-3. In the two doubles spot,
Bruno Babic and
Andres Velasco won 9-7, while
Julen Gutierrez and
Vinicius Santos won 8-4 in the third spot.
In singles, Santos started out the six match sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the one spot, while Babic took down his opponent 6-2, 6-1 in the two singles match. Oyarzun won 6-2, 6-4 in the third match, as M. Velasco won in three sets in the four spot, Gutierrez was dominant in the five spot with a 6-0, 6-0 win, and A. Velasco finished off the win with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the sixth singles match.
The Aggies are now 6-5 on the season, while UAFS is 3-5.
Cameron will continue on their road trip and head to Alabama as they face North Alabama on Saturday, March 11 at noon.
