DURANT, Okla. – The No. 25 Cameron men's tennis team won a close match on the road, defeating No. 19 Southeastern Oklahoma 5-4 on Wednesday.
The Aggies are now 9-8 overall, and the Savage Storm are 8-5 on the year.
Cameron swept the doubles portion of the match with the pairing of
Felipe Oyarzun and
Mateo Velasco defeating their opponents 8-2 in the one-spot. In the second slot,
Bruno Babic and
Keiran President won 8-6, and the third slot pairing of
Vinicius Santos and
Julen Gutierrez also won 8-6.
On the singles side, CU took two of five with four singles matches going to three sets.
Babic and M. Velasco got the singles victories for Cameron. In the second spot, Babic won 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, while M. Velasco nabbed a 6-6, 7-6 victory in the number-four spot.
Next, the Aggies will play a pair of home matches this weekend as they take on Auburn Montgomery on Friday and St. Edward's on Saturday.
