OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – After moving from the Streich-Henry Family Tennis Complex in Lawton to an indoor facility in Oklahoma City due to rain, the Cameron University tennis teams split a pair of matches against St. Edward's, as the CU men won 5-2 and the women lost 5-2.

In the women's match, CU's top doubles team of Zhenia Shviadok and Mathilde Thibaudat won their match 9-7, but the Black and Gold lost in the two match 8-2 and lost the third by default.

Paula Gutierrez and Shviadok showed why they are both in the top-50 in the nation, as Gutierrez won 6-0, 6-0 in the ones match and Shviadok won in three sets in the two match. Magdalena Kovinic got the Aggies a point in the five match as it went unfinished. Unfortunately that would not be enough, as the Hilltoppers won the three and four matches and then the six by default.

No. 24 Cameron is now 8-9, while the 42 ranked St. Edward's is now 9-9.

The Cameron men won two of the three doubles matches, as the top pairing of Felipe Oyarzun and Mateo Velasco won 9-7 in the one spot and then Vinicius Santos and Julen Gutierrez won 8-4 in the three doubles match.

In singles, CU got wins in the one, two, and four spots, while the Hilltoppers scored a point in the three match. Both the five and six singles matches went unfinished.

The No. 25 Aggies are now 10-9, while STEU, who is ranked No. 30, moves to 12-10

Both the Cameron men and women will face Newman on Monday, April 1 beginning at 1 p.m.
