ODESSA, Texas – The Cameron University tennis teams got a pair of wins against UT Permian Basin, as the CU women won 6-3, and the Aggie men won 5-4 to clinch the Lone Star Conference regular season title with a 3-0 record over conference foes this over the last week of play.
 
In the women's match, the Black and Gold won two out of three in doubles, as Zhenia Shviadok and Mathilde Thibaudat got the win in the one spot and Paula Gutierrez and Samantha Wood won in the two doubles match. In singles, Gutierrez, Shviadok, Thibaudat, and Wood all won in two sets in the one through four matches to secure the 6-3 win.
 
Cameron finished the regular season in second place in the LSC standings with a 4-1 league mark and a 13-10 overall record.
 
The Aggie men also went up 2-1 early, getting wins in the two and three doubles matches. In singles, Felipe Oyarzun and Julen Gutierrez got wins in the two and four spots, while Keiran President was the deciding factor with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the five spot to give Cameron the 5-4 victory.
 
With the 3-0 LSC mark, CU is now 14-10 overall this season.
 
Next up for the Aggie tennis program will be the Lone Star Conference Championships, which will take place in Arlington, Texas, April 21-22.
