Aggie baseball drops 7-0 contest at Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE, Texas. – The Aggies could only record two hits against Tarleton State as they would fall 7-0 to the Texans on Saturday afternoon.

The shutout loss is the third this season for the Aggies with two of those coming against TSU.

Cameron is now 25-16 and 6-8 in the Lone Star Conference. TSU is 26-20 and 9-12 in the league.

Cody Bower and Leno Ramirez accounted for each of the Aggies' hits with Ramirez recording a double.

Bower was the lone Aggie to reach third base in the contest as he threatened to score in the first inning reaching and advancing on back-to-back errors and then reached third on a wild pitch.

However, TSU came away unscathed as the next two Aggies were retired on a shallow fly ball and groundout.

In the bottom of the first, the Texans scored on an Aggie first baseman error, but would do most of their damage in the second by scoring five runs, including a 3 RBI triple. TSU made it a 7-0 game in the eighth with a sacrifice fly for an unearned run.

TSU's Nathan Hickey (8-2) got the complete nine inning win on the mound, while CU's Gaige Vines (3-5) was charged with the loss. Vines allowed six runs, five of which were earned in 1.2 innings pitched.

Matt Glassman closed out the game in the final 6.1 innings allowing just one run and four of the Texans' ten hits while striking out five batters.

The series will close out Sunday with a 1 p.m. double header start.
