About the Aggies:Â
Cameron enters postseason play with a 13-15 overall record and an 11-9 league mark. They have won two straight contests, as they took down Midwestern State and Texas woman's in the final week of regular season play. CU has three players averaging in double-figures with
Jamie Bonnarens leading the team and the league with 17.6 points per game. Additionally,
Ava Battese averages 11.6 points and
Parfitt McNair averages 10.8 points.
Lejha Smith leads CU with 10.4 rebounds per game while scoring 8.5 points per outing.Â
Division II Stat Rankings:Â
Compared to the rest of the country, Cameron ranks 30th in total rebounds and 33rd in rebounds per game. They are 30th in three point field goals made and 49th in three pointers made per game.
Lejha Smith is 14th in Division II in defensive rebounds per game, 20th in total rebounds, and 21st in rebounds per game.
Jamie Bonnarens is 58th in points per game, 28th in field goals attempted, and 61st in field goals made.
Ava Battese is third in three point field goals attempted, 13th in three pointers made, and 15 in three point shots made per game. Battese is also 22nd in minutes played.
Scouting the Lions:Â
Texas A&M-Commerce enters the tournament with a 17-11 overall record and a 13-7 league mark, but has lost three of their last five matchups heading into postseason play. Brianna Wise leads the team with 16.4 points per game and is shooting 78 percent from the free throw line. Artaejah Gay is averaging 14.3 points and just recently became third all-time on the program's career scoring list. Additionally, Princess Davis is averaging 12.4 points per game and Jenna Price leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per outing. Wise was named All-LSC first team and Davis landed on the third team.
This Season Sgainst TAMUC:Â
In the Aggies first contest against the Lions, the led 18-12 after the first quarter, but a poor second and third quarter led to them trailing by four heading into the final quarter. After forcing overtime, CU went cold in the extra five minutes of play, going just 2-8 from the field to fall 79-69.
Jamie Bonnarens had a team-high 22 points, as
Parfitt McNair had 18. Brianna Wise had 26 points off the bench for the Lions as Jenna Price had a 12 point, 14 rebound double-double.Â
Cameron bounced back in Commerce, scoring 56 points in the second half alone to win 94-87. The Black and Gold shot over 53 percent from the field and the perimeter in the win. Bonnarens matched a career high with 32 points and had 12 rebounds, as McNair had 19 and
Lejha Smith had a 14 point, 11 rebound double-double. Princess Davis dropped 31 points for TAMUC and Wise had 25 off the bench.Â
The Series:
- The Lions lead the all-time series 26-23.Â
- The two teams split the season series with Cameron winning on the road and Texas A&M-Commerce getting the win at the Aggie Gym in overtime.

CU in the Tournament:
Cameron has qualified for the LSC Championship the past four seasons, yet the still hold a 1-12 record in league postseason play. They have faced off against the Lions twice before in the tournament, losing both games:

1993-Texas A&M-Commerce 80, Cameron 70
In the 2015 contest between the Aggies and TAMUC, Princess Davis led the Lions with 23 points and Artaejah Gay scoring 18. The only current CU player that was on that team was Brianna Underwood, who had five rebounds in 12 minutes of game time. Â
Against the Bracket:
The Aggies face a tough test on their side of the bracket. Should the get past Texas A&M-Commerce, who they split with this season, they would face the winner of the West Texas A&M and Midwestern State contest. Cameron dropped both games against the Lady Buffs this season, but swept their two contests with Midwestern State. On the other side of the bracket lies Tarleton State, Eastern New Mexico, Texas Woman's, and Angelo State. The Black and Gold holds a 2-6 record against those teams this season.Â
All-Conference:
The Lone Star Conference all-conference teams were released on Wednesday night at the annual league tournament banquet. Cameron had three players who received special recognition by the LSC office.
Jamie Bonnarens was named a first team All-LSC selection and was named to the conference All-Academic team.
Lejha Smith was selected to the conference's All-Defensive team and was an honorable mention All-LSC selection, along with teammate
Parfitt McNair.Â
