LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University softball team will compete at the St. Mary's NCAA Division II College Classic this weekend as they play five games in three days, Feb. 9-11.

About the Aggies:
Cameron opened up the season with a 4-2 record at the Southeastern Regional Invitational last weekend. After losing their first two games of the weekend, CU bounced back for four straight wins thanks to some clutch hitting and pitching.

The Aggies struggled at the plate during their first six games, hitting just .239 with 26 runs scored.
Annie Combs led the way with six hits and four RBI, while
Lauren Mason had five hits and a team best six stolen bases.
Abbey Warren and
Callie Busby both also had four RBI through the first weekend of play, as Mason, Warren, and
Brenna Busby each scored four runs.

In the circle,
Bethany Hines recorded a 2-1 record in three starts. She posted a 2.21 ERA in 19 innings of work while striking out 20 batters.
Rylee Willmon got a win and a save for CU, while
Alyssa Osterdock picked up a win as well. Â

Fort Hays State | Feb. 9 | 10 a.m.
The Tigers kick off the 2018 season with a 1-2 record. The Fort Hays State softball team went 1-1 in a doubleheader against UC- Colorado Springs last Saturday and fell short Sunday in the three- game series. At the plate the Tigers were led by Grace Philop (.500, 4 RBI) and Tess Gray (.444, 1 HR, 5 RBI). Sierra Rodriguez picked up the solo win on the mound.

St. Edwards | Feb. 9 | 4:45 p.m.
St. Edwards opened up their season dropping a game to Texas A&M – Commerce in six innings. Game two of the double header was halted due to the weather. SEU (0-1) was led by Shelby Janda's single in the fifth and Valerie Brant picked up her first collegiate hit and RBI in the first.

Regis | Feb. 10 | 12:15 p.m.
The Regis University softball team (1-3) opened the 2018 season with back- to- back mercy rule losses to Augustana University and West Texas A&M. In day two of the opening series Regis took a win from Augustana but fell short to West Texas A&M. Logan Losh picked up her first win of the season on the mound and led the team at the plate over the weekend (.675), while teammate Analece Apodaca batted a .500 with 2 homeruns.

St. Mary's (TX) | Feb. 10 | 4:45 p.m.
The St. Mary's softball team started off the 2018 season playing in the Colorado Mesa Invitational. In day one they picked up 2 wins against Metro State and New Mexico Highlands followed by a loss to Texas A&M- Commerce Saturday morning. The team punched back taking a win short after to Adams State but fell short in day three to Colorado Mesa in 8 innings. Staci Johns picked up the first win of the season on the mound while Hope Russell charted the other two wins of the tournament. Offensively St. Mary's was led by Abigale Carney (.467 3RBI), Taylor Germain (.429), and Alessandra Ortiz hit the first and only homerun over the weekend.

California-Pennsylvania | Feb. 11 | 10 a.m.
The California University of Pennsylvania is the only team going into the St. Mary's Classic who has not opened up the 2018 season yet. They were picked fourth in the preseason Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West poll. They finished the 2017 season with a 22- 17 overall record and qualified for the PSAC Tournament. The Vulcans return NFCA All – American senior shortstop Emily Price and the PSAC West Freshman of the Year Paige Wilson.

Cameron will play their first game at McMahon Field and Athletics Center on Friday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. against Texas Woman's for the team's home and Lone Star Conference opener. The two teams will then return the next day, Saturday, Feb. 17, for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
