About the Aggies:
Cameron owns a 6-9 record in 2018-19 and is 3-4 against league opponents. They have now won two straight and three of the last five after beating the Mustangs on Tuesday. They are scoring just over 71 points per game, while giving up 76.1 to their opposition. CU is shooting just under 40 percent from the floor to go along with a 35.1 three point percentage and a 68.9 free throw percentage. They excel on the boards by grabbing 41 rebounds per outing, including a league best 28.5 defensive rebounds per game. Additionally, the Black and Gold turns the ball over at a 19.5 clip compared to an average of 12.5 assists. They average 6.1 steals and 3.3 blocks per outing.

Halbleib leads the team with 13.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, shooting 43 percent from the field and 34 percent from three. She is also recording 1.7 assists and 1.1 steals per outing. Freshman Hedge is second on the team with 13.5 points per game and averages a team best 3.1 assists and is shooting over 41 percent from the floor and three point range as well as 90.6 percent from the foul line. Additionally, Battese is scoring 10.2 points and Parfitt McNair averages 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

Last Time Out:
Halbleib, McNair, and Hedge combined for 42 points as the Cameron women's basketball team took down rival MSU Texas 80-59 on Tuesday night.

Halbleib had seven of CU's points in the frame, and finished with 15 on the night. Off the bench, Hedge provided a huge lift for the Aggies. She dished off six first half assists on her way to totaling eight dimes on the day. She also poured in seven first half points and was a +14 for the half. The Melbourne, Australia native finished with 12 points and logged 30 minutes off the CU bench.

For the game, the CU out-rebounded the Mustangs 46-38, and shot 48 percent from the floor tonight. Despite committing more turnovers (23-17) and getting charged with more fouls (25-17) the Aggies arguably played their most complete game of the year being in control from start to finish.

CU saw three players get into double figures including McNair, who posted 15 points after dropping 17 points last Saturday. Smith was just one point away from a double-double for the Black and Gold, grabbing 11 boards to go along with her nine points.

Scouting the Pioneers:
Texas Woman's is 5-10 overall this season and 2-5 in league play following their 76-72 loss to MSU on Thursday. They have lost seven in a row dating back to Dec. 18 and all five of their wins have come at Kitty Magee Arena. Against the Mustangs, TWU led 54-39 heading into the fourth quarter, but then got outscored 37-18 in the final frame to fall by four. The Pioneers went just 1-10 from the field in the final quarter, scoring 16 of their 18 points at the foul line. Moody led the squad with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Macy Wilkerson had 17 points off the bench, going 11-16 from the free throw line.

TWU is scoring 62.2 points per game, shooting 37.9 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from three, and 70.4 percent from the charity stripe. They turn the ball over 18.1 time per outing, compared to just 9.9 assists. Additionally, the Pioneers average 38.9 rebounds, 6.5 steals, and 3.1 blocks per outing. Moody leads the team with an average of 14.1 points and 9.1 rebounds while shooting almost 48 percent from the floor. Bri'anna Gray is also averaging double-figures this season, scoring 11.7 points per game.

The Series Against TWU:
The all-time series between the Aggies and TWO is even at 24-24, but the Pioneers have had the advantage as of late, winning four of the last five contests in the series. Last season, the two teams split the season matchups, with each team winning their respective road contests. In Lawton, Cameron scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, but fell short of a comeback, losing 59-57. Smith led the Aggies with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks, while Battese chipped in 12 points and McNair had 11. TWU's top returning scorer from that game is KJ Stastny, who had 11 points. In the regular season finale in Denton, Texas, CU once again had a big fourth quarter, this time scoring 18 points to force overtime, where they outscored TWU 13-7 to earn the 71-65 win. Smith added another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Battese added 12 points. Gray led TWU with 21 points off of the bench.

Next Up:
The Aggies will continue their three game road stretch next week as they visit Angelo State on Thursday, Jan. 24 and then Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Jan. 26. Those games will wrap up the first half of the Lone Star Conference season for CU.
