LAWTON, Okla. – After a 4-1 weekend in Edmond, the Cameron University softball team will be back in action this weekend for their home opener, which doubles as the Lone Star Conference opener against Tarleton State.

Series Rundown:
Tarleton State and the Cameron Aggies will start a three game set in Lawton, Okla. at McMahon Field and Athletics complex on Friday at 3 p.m., before wrapping up the series on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Game one will be streamed on cameronaggies.com, while the Saturday doubleheader will be broadcasted by the Oklahoma Sports Network.

About the Aggies:
Cameron has opened up the 2019 season with an 8-3 record after going 4-2 at the Arkansas Tech Winter Invitational and 4-1 at the Edmond Festival. Three of CU's wins have come by run-rule, while four of the other five contests have been decided by three runs or less.

As a team, the Black and Gold are hitting .301 with 63 runs scored, 26 extra-base hits, and 18 stolen bases.

Breley Webb all have 11 hits and are hitting over .300 in CU's 11 games.
Madyson Marvulli leads the team with nine RBI and Edwards, B. Busby and
Callie Busby each have eight, while B. Busby also leads the team with 11 runs scored.

Cameron owns a combined ERA of 2.18 in the circle with 52 total strikeouts in 74 innings of work.
Rylee Willmon leads the way with a 1.68 ERA and three wins in 25 innings of work, while
Bethany Hines is 2-2 with a 2.33 ERA and 22 K's in 27 innings in the circle.

Scouting the TexAnns:
Tarleton State will stroll into Lawton boasting a 9-1 record coming off a weekend in the St. Mary's College Classic that saw four contests canceled from last Friday through Monday. They come into LSC play ranked No. 14 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll, one of three Lone Star Conference members. TSU and the Aggies have five common opponents already this season. Against Minnesota Duluth, St. Edwards, Colorado School of Mines, Pittsburg State, and Southeastern Oklahoma State; the Aggies went 4-1 against that group, while TSU posted a 6-0 record.

With a minimum requirement of 20 at bats, the TexAnn's have a trio of .300 average hitters or better. Lexi Grimaldo leads the way with a .393 average on 28 at bats, while Georgia Capell has hit .387 with 11 RBI and 10 runs scored. As a team, TSU is hitting for a sub .300 average of .292, and have clubbed three home runs, while not allowing a home run from the circle.

Tarleton State has only allowed 19 runs to score while seeing 59 TexAnns cross the plate. No TexAnn holds an ERA above 2.70 and a pair of TSU pitchers have posted a sub one ERA to date. Tristian Bridges is the TexAnn's leading innings eater, as the freshman has gone 23.1 innings across the last two weekends of play. Bridges has a complete game and save on her resume thus far, while putting up a 2.70 ERA and only allowing a .281 opponents' batting average. Sophomore Julia Wernet has tossed 18.1 innings while clinging to a 0.98 ERA and a team-best four wins, while LSC Preseason Pitcher of the Year, Jordan Withrow, has struck out 31 hitters in 17 innings in the circle.

The Aggies will return to their nonconference schedule with a quick two game series against Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Feb. 19, before returning to conference play to take on rival Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas, Feb. 22-23.
