LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University softball team will begin their week on Tuesday, by visiting Southwestern Oklahoma State for a non-conference doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
About the Aggies:
Cameron is now 10-7 on the season after losing two out of three at MSU Texas this past weekend. Their second straight conference series loss has them at 2-4 against league opponents. CU and the Mustangs split the doubleheader with two hard fought contests, as the Aggies won game one 5-3 and then lost 4-3 in the second game. MSU wrapped up the series with a 9-0 win on Saturday.
The Aggies' are now hitting .283 as a team with 85 runs scored and 32 extra-base hits. Five players are hitting over .300 with freshman
Khmari Edwards leading the way with a .383 averages, 18 hits, and 11 RBI.
Brenna Busby is batting .333 with a team leading 17 runs scored to go along with 11 RBI, while freshman
Breley Webb is batting .302 with 10 runs driven in. Edwards, Busby, and
Raley Long, who is also hitting .333, are a combined 19-19 in stolen base attempts, while CU as a team is 30-37.
In the circle, Cameron has a team ERA of 2.96 with a combined 81 strikeouts in 111 innings pitched. Webb leads the team with a 2.21 ERA and is 2-0 with 18 K's in 19 innings of work.
Bethany Hines has a team best 34 strikeouts to go along with a 2.65 ERA in 42.1 innings in the circle.
Scouting the Bulldogs:
Southwestern Oklahoma State is now 2-8 on the season after losing three out of four against Southeastern on Sunday and Monday. They started the year with a pair of losses at MSU before going 1-4 at the UCO/OC Tournament.
SWOSU is batting .265 as a team with 43 runs scored and 23 extra-base hits. Amanda Moreno is hitting .429 with 12 hits, nine runs, and seven RBI, which are all tops on the team. In the circle, the Bulldogs have a 6.43 team ERA with a combined 19 strikeouts in 61 innings pitched. Kaytlin Donaldson is 2-2 in three starts with a 4.89 ERA and eight K's in 24.1 innings pitched.

Cameron will compete in the Missouri Southern TMZ Tournament next weekend, March 1-3, in Joplin, Mo.
