LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University softball team hosts UT Permian Basin for their final home series of the regular season Thursday and Friday, April 18-19.

Senior Day:
The Aggie softball program will honor their three senior student-athletes prior to Friday's doubleheader.
Alyssa Osterdock,
Abbey Warren, and
Rylee Willmon will all be recognized for their hard work on and off the field prior to first pitch, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday. Osterdock and Warren have been a big part of the team for the past four seasons, and after transferring to CU last season, Willmon has been one of the top pitchers in the Lone Star Conference.
About the Aggies:
Cameron has now won six straight series after sweeping Texas Woman's last weekend. They are now 29-12 on the season and 16-8 in Lone Star Conference play, which has them currently in fourth in the league standings. CU outscored the Pioneers 23-4 in the three-game series, getting a pair of wins from
Bethany Hines in the circle and strong offensive performances from
Khmari Edwards,
Brenna Busby, and
Callie Busby. Hines was named the conference Pitcher of the Week for her efforts in the circle.
The Aggies have the third best batting average in the LSC, hitting .322 with 256 runs scored and 105 extra-base hits, 47 of which have been homers. CU's freshman second baseman Edwards is fourth in the league with a .411 average, leads the team with 51 hits and is 22-22 on the base paths. B. Busby is hitting .380 with a conference leading 51 runs scored while clubbing 14 homers and driving in 40 runs; she is also 19-21 in stolen base attempts. Additionally, C. Busby (.355) leads a group of four other Aggies hitting over .300.
In the circle, CU's team ERA of 2.82 is also third in the conference, while the staff has combined for 201 strikeouts in 266 innings.
Breley Webb is 7-1 with a 2.39 ERA and 60 K's in 64.1 innings, while Hines is 12-5 on the season with a 2.57 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 95.1 innings. Additionally, Willmon has a 2.90 ERA and is 8-4 with 42 punch-outs.
Scouting the Falcons:
UT Permian Basin is at the bottom of the LSC standings, entering the series in Lawton with a 10-33 overall record and a 3-21 league mark. They are coming off a doubleheader split against Sul Ross, but have lost 10 straight games against conference opponents.
UTPB is hitting just .235 as a team, scoring 120 runs scored and recording 56 extra-base hits (six homers). Vanessa Alonzo is the lone Falcon hitting over .300 (min of 2 PA/G) at .326, while driving in a team-high 19 RBI. Alicia Marion is hitting .315 with a team-high 29 hits and 16 runs scored, but has played in just 26 games this season.
The Falcons own a team ERA of 5.34 with 102 K's in 271.1 innings in the circle. Abrie Castillo and Rubie Sanchez are the only pitchers with ERA's of under 5.00, while Castillo has 62 strikeouts in 92.2 innings of work and Sanchez is 1-4 in 11 appearances.
On Deck:
The Cameron softball team will close out the 2019 regular season on the road as they face the No. 14 ranked Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, who is currently in the top spot of the league standings. That three game series will be April 26-27 in Commerce, Texas.
