1. Cameron sophomore guard
Maighan Hedge claimed her second Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday after averaging 26.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while shooting over 60 percent from the field and from three over the two-game span.
2. The Aggies' two wins last week extended their win streak to four games, which is the longest since the 2015-16 season where CU went 15-11, there last winning season; Cameron is currently seventh in the LSC standings with an 8-6 league record.
3. Cameron's two opponents this week, Texas Woman's and Tarleton, have had opposite starts to the new year as TWU is just 2-7 since Jan. 1 and the Texans are 8-1 in 2020; TSU is tied for fourth in the league standings and the Pioneers are 14th.
4. Junior Ma'K'La Woods has been a solid player for the Pioneers this season, averaging 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor; she had a season-high 24 points last week against St. Mary's.
5. Tarleton senior forward Mackenzie Hailey is finishing her Texan career on a high not, averaging 16.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season; she has scored the third most points in TSU history.

Cameron stretched their win-streak out to four games with a 68-50 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville last Saturday. CU doubled up the Javelinas in the first quarter, outscoring their opponent 24-12 in the first 10 minutes of action. That early lead allowed them to coast to the 18-point victory. CU shot just 39 percent from the floor, but made 11 three-pointers, which was their third straight game with 10 or more triples made. Hedge paced CU with 26 points on 11-17 shooting from the field (4-6 from three), while Battese added 14 points and 10 rebounds for her first career double-double.
About the Aggies:
The Aggies have been dominant over their last four games, improving their record to 9-11 overall and 8-6 against conference opponents. Over the four-game span, CU is averaging 78.8 points per game, outscoring their opponents by over 10 scores per contest while shooting 42 percent from the field and 39 percent from long-range. On the season, the Aggies are scoring 72 points per game, shooting 38 percent from the field, and make a LSC-best 9.7 three-point field goals per game at a 35 percent clip. The Black and Gold's other numbers have improved to 40.5 rebounds and 14.1 assists per game, while on defense they average 7.5 steals and 3.3 blocks per outing.
Cameron University is home to one of the best shooting back courts in all of Division II led by the sophomore Hedge and her league-leading 20.8 points per game. The Aussie is shooting over 43 percent from the field, 40 percent from three, and 85 percent from the charity stripe while also averaging 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. The senior and Elgin, Okla. native Battese is averaging 17.2 points per game, which is fourth in the LSC, while leading the nation with her 4.53 three-point field goals per game which she makes at a 42 percent clip.
Scouting the Pioneers:
In the 13th year under head coach Beth Jillson, the Pioneers are 6-12 overall this season and 4-10 against the LSC. They are averaging just under 60 points per game and have been outscored by an average of 2.9 points by their opposition. TWU is shooting 40.5 percent from the field, but makes their 4.1 triples at just a 29.9 percent clip. They turn the ball over 18.2 times per game, while recording 7.0 steals and 2.8 blocks on the defensive end, where they are allowing opponents to shoot 38.2 percent from the field.
Just two Pioneers are averaging over 10 points per game, Woods and Carissa Moody, who leads the team with 11.0 points and 9.7 rebounds per game but hasn't played since Jan. 2. Woods' 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds has led TWU while Moody has been out, and her sister Brielle has averaged 9.7 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Pioneers in 15 games played this season.
Scouting the Texans:
The now 15-5 Texans are 9-3 when playing at home in the Wisdom Gym in their sixth season of the Misty Wilson coaching era. Her squad has been strong on both sides of the ball this season, averaging 66.1 points on offense while limiting their opponent to just 54.4 points per game on defense. Tarleton is shooting 44 percent from the field and just 30 percent from three-point range. They out-rebound their opposition by 2.9 boards per game, while averaging 15 assists compared to 17 turnovers per outing. TSU also records 10.4 steals and 3.6 blocks while limiting their opponents to just a 38.5 shooting percentage on defense.
Hailey is the only Texan with a scoring average of over 10 this season, dropping just over 16 points per outing. Junior guard Alexa Hoy is scoring 9.7 points per game for TSU, while sophomore Marissa Escamilla averages 8.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 16.3 minutes player per game; the 5-9 forward is also shooting 55.7 percent from the floor.
Who has next:
Following their trip to central Texas this week, the Aggies will return to Lawton for their final homestand of the 2019-20 regular season. The four-game stretch will consist of all division games, starting with a rematch against UT Tyler on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 5:30 p.m. The remaining home slate includes battles with No. 4 A&M-Commerce, Oklahoma Christian, and then UAFS; CU went 3-1 against those teams on the road.
