LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron women's basketball team looks to get back to full strength as they wind down the opening portion of the season. The Aggies welcome St. Mary's and St. Edwards into the Aggie Gym Saturday afternoon and Monday evening.
CU will travel to Southwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday for their final non-conference game before wrapping up play against Midwestern State on Saturday, Dec. 17.
STARTING 5
1. The Aggies fell to Texas Woman's last Saturday 85-63, falling to 0-2 in the LSC. Katie King led Cameron with a team-high 14 points, and Kiara Lovings joined her in double figures with 11.
2. Alena Wilson leads the team in scoring and rebounds and shoots an efficient 43 percent from the floor. She ranks seventh in the LSC with her 14.7 ppg and fifth with 8.3 rebounds.
3. St. Mary's is 5-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. Last week they took down Western New Mexico in double overtime before falling to Eastern New Mexico on Saturday 72-65. Tonia Bilic leads the StMU with 11.9 ppg.
4. St. Edwards defeated Western New Mexico last weekend 64-57 to move to 3-5 overall and 1-1 in the LSC. They were led by Morgan Gary, Bella Muscoreil, and Jayda Ruffus-Milner, scoring 13 points in the win.
5. Gary leads the Hilltoppers with 10.8 ppg, and Ruffus-Milner and Lauren Catherman average 8.8 ppg.
LAST TIME OUT:

TWU would dominate the game from tip to buzzer as CU's woes early on continued to stifle them. The Aggies would knock down twice as many shots as the first, shooting 42.9 percent in the second half and 47.1 from deep, making eight threes after the half. Cameron could not improve the scoreboard in the second half, but they could hang tight with TWU, only getting outscored by two, 43-41.
ABOUT THE AGGIES:
CU is now 2-5 and 0-2 in the LSC after the loss to TWU. The Aggies are averaging just over 65 points on offense while giving up just over 75 points on the defensive end. Cameron comes into conference play for the LSC in the bottom third of the league. Alena Wilson leads the team in scoring and rebounds and shoots an efficient 43 percent from the floor. She ranks seventh in the LSC with her 14.7 ppg and fifth with 8.3 rebounds.
SCOUTING THE RATTLERS:
St. Mary's is 5-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. Last week they took down Western New Mexico in double overtime before falling to Eastern New Mexico on Saturday 72-65. They had a two score in double figures, Ariah Powell led the team with 20 points, and Tonia Bilic scored 12. They are averaging 68 points per game while giving up 63 points. Bilic leads the StMU with 11.9 ppg. The Rattlers have used a balanced attack this season as eight players are averaging between 4.9-11.9 points per game, while six are averaging between 3.5-6.1 rebounds an outing.
LAST TIME AGAINST STMU:
Cameron used their defensive pressure, forcing 24 turnovers on their way to an 88-80 win over St. Mary's, resulting in 26 points off turnovers for the visiting Aggies. Cameron also shot 45 percent from the field and went 11-32 from three and 17-20 from the charity stripe in the win. Maighan Hedge poured in a game-high 19 points, and Korie Allensworth and Stephanie Peterson added 17 points.

Last spring, the Black-and-Gold took down St. Edwards 75-63 in Austin, Texas. Cameron's top four scorers provided most of the offense in the win over SEU. Korie Allensworth led the way, pouring in a career-best 22 points off the bench, shooting 8-14 from the field and 5-9 from three. Katie King and Maighan Hedge each had 15 points, and Stephanie Peterson scored 11. A big part of CU's win was their defensive pressure, forcing the Hilltoppers into 23 turnovers, 17 of which came on Aggie steals. The turnovers resulted in 31 of CU's points.
WHO HAS NEXT:
The Aggies will host St. Edwards on Monday, Dec. 12. They then conclude the first half of the season with a game at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Dec. 15 and then host Midwestern State on Dec. 17.
