LAWTON – The Cameron women's basketball team wraps up the regular season schedule with three home games that will determine seeding in the Lone Star Conference tournament.
The Aggies face three big games this week, hosting UT Tyler on Tuesday, Texas A&M International on Thursday, and Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday for the regular season finale. Cameron currently sits in eighth in the LSC standings with UTT in fifth, the Dustdevils in ninth, and TAMUK in a tie for sixth.
PROMOTIONAL EVENTS
In addition to closing out the regular season, Cameron Athletics has three promotional events coming up as well. Tuesday is National Division II Day with Aggie SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee) hosting two fundraisers (Chuck-A-Duck and Pie a Coach) during the basketball games. Thursday night is BancFirst night, and Saturday is Senior Day and Homecoming.
STARTING 5
1. After going 1-1 last week, falling in a close game against Lone Star Conference leader West Texas A&M and beating Western New Mexico by 25, the Aggies 9-4 in league play and sitting in eighth place in the conference standings.

Stephanie Peterson did it all for the Aggies last week, averaging 18 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.5 steals, and one block while shooting 50 percent from the field over the two-game span; her five steals against WNMU was the fourth time this season she had five or more steals in a game.
3. UT Tyler, who is 16-6 on the year, is first in the LSC and top-11 in Division II in both field goal percentage (45.8 percent) and field goal percentage defense (34.1 percent), led by Liah Davis, who is shooting 54.1 percent from the field this season.
4. Since starting the season 10-1 Texas A&M International has gone 6-7 and they currently lead the conference and are top-10 in the nation with 17.3 assists per game, led by Evelyn Quiroz with 4.0 and Eva Langton's 3.8 assists per outing.
5. Texas A&M-Kingsville is 17-8 this season, but 12 of their wins have come on their home floor; they are first in the LSC and seventh nationally holding teams to a 24.3 percent clip from three-point range and second in the LSC with 7.5 made triples per game.
ABOUT THE AGGIES
The Aggies got back to what made them so successful all season last time out in their win over Western New Mexico. They made 10 three-pointers and forced 20 turnovers with 14 steals in the 25-point victory. Cameron is averaging 77 points per game while shooting 41 percent from the field and 34 percent from three, making 10.2 shots from deep per game. They also limit teams to just 5.2 made three-pointers at a 28 percent clip. CU also turns teams over 21 times per outing, resulting in an average of 21 points, with 12.1 steals per contest.
Maighan Hedge leads the way with 21.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 47 percent from the field. Peterson is averaging nearly 14 points to go along with 6.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.8 steals. Second-year guard
Katie King is fourth on the team with 10.1 points per game to go along with averages of 4.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.9 steals.
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
Sitting at 16-6 overall and 9-3 in LSC play, UT Tyler is averaging 66.2 points per game while limiting teams to 58.4 points on average. They make 6.5 three-pointers per game at a 34 percent clip while allowing teams to make eight per game at a 31 percent clip. UTT turns the ball over 16 times per game while forcing almost the same amount with an average of 8.8 steals. Davis leads the team with 14.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game while Destini Whitehead averages 10.4 points, and Montse Gutierrez averages 10.3 points. Freshman Lovisa Hevinder is a sharp-shooter that has made 62 triples at a 45 percent clip this season.
SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS
Texas A&M International enters the week with a 16-8 overall record and a 7-6 league mark. They average 71 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor and 34.5 percent from three. They out-rebound teams by an average of one board, but despite their high assists total, turn the ball over 23.3 times per contest. However, the Dustdevils force 22.5 giveaways with 12.2 steals per outing. Sophomore forward Rai Brown averages 17.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 steals while shooting 55 percent from the field. Additionally, Clara Fernandez averages 10.1 points. 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per contest for TAMIU.
SCOUTING THE JAVELINAS
The Javelinas enter the final week of the regular season with a 17-8 overall record and a 10-4 league mark. They average just 63.1 points while shooting 40 percent from the field and nearly 35 percent from three. TAMUK also limits teams to just 58 points per game with them shooting 38.5 percent from the field and just 25 percent from three. They turn teams over 18 times per contest with an average of 8.6 steals. Oklahoma native Kryslyn Jones averages a team-best 10.1 points to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.5 steals. Senior Anastacia Mickens averages 6.8 points and 4.8 rebounds and Mia Rivers averages 7.9 points, 4.2 assists, and 1.6 steals.

Next up for the Aggies is the Lone Star Conference tournament with the first-round game being played on Tuesday, March 1, on campus and the rest of the tournament being played at the Comerica Center in Frisco, TX March 4-6. The top-4 teams in the LSC standings get a first round bye.
