CANYON, Texas – Cameron heads to the South Central Regional after advancing to the semifinals in the Lone Star Conference Championship last weekend. The Aggies will look to make another strong postseason run as they kick off the NCAA Division II South Central Region 2 Tournament against No. 9 West Texas A&M on Thursday.

CU closed out the regular season by falling three times in Canyon, dropping game one 4-0 before losing 5-3 and 5-1 to close out the series. The Black-and-Gold beat Lubbock Christian, 7-4, in the first round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament before falling to the future champion UT Tyler 5-0.
Cameron will look to avenge their three losses in the first round of the regional. This season the Aggies have gone 2-4 against teams that will be in Canyon.
Kaiden Boren leads CU with a .333 average, 13 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, 32 RBI, and 40 runs. Josie Swafford boasts a .326 average with nine doubles, a triple, two home runs, 24 RBI, and 25 runs while also carrying a 2.78 ERA in 131.0 innings while striking out 131 batters and a .211 batting average against her.
The winner of the South Central Region 2 Tournament will move on to face the winner of the Region 1 Tournament in the Super-Regional next week. The Region 1 field consists of the host and top seed UT Tyler, Lubbock Christian, Oklahoma Christian, and St. Edward's.
