Portales, NM. - The Women's Basketball team fell short against Eastern New Mexico on Saturday December 7th at Portales, New Mexico. Despite a strong effort, the Aggies were unable to overcome the Greyhounds, who used the third quarter to claim the game, 82–54.
The Aggies entered the game looking to snap a two-game losing streak in Lone Star Conference play. Eastern New Mexico extended their league record to 3-0 and overall, to 8-1 with the win, while Cameron dropped to 0-3 in conference and 2-5 overall.
The Aggies were competitive early, trailing just 41–38 at halftime. Eastern New Mexico capitalized on turnovers and scoring 24 points in the paint while limiting Cameron's offensive opportunities.
Shamica Smith led the Aggies with a balanced stat line, contributing 16 points, six rebounds, and a steal, despite fouling out in the fourth quarter.
Grace Alverson added 16 points, including 3 three-pointers, showcasing her scoring range.
Kloe Heidebrecht chipped in 8 points and 5 rebounds while playing solid defense.
