RICHARDSON, Tex. - The Lone Star Conference released its list of preseason rankings and awards ahead of the start of the 2025-26 women's basketball season on Monday afternoon.
The Aggies received 262 points in the voting, placing 13th in the 17-team list. Texas Women's was chosen as the first place team with 810 points and 20 first place votes. Lubbock Christian trailed closely in second with 776 points and 14 votes, while UT Tyler rounded out the top three with 761 points and 8 first place votes.
CU recorded an 8-18 record overall and 6-16 record in LSC play last season, but finished the season winning six of their last seven games. The team will see a bevy of youth, with ten underclassmen making up the roster.
Madison Griggs received the Player to Watch honor for the Aggies. The returning sophomore made 19 appearances last season with 18 starts, averaging 9.4 points and 4.2 rebounds, as well as a .352 three-point percentage.
The Aggies kick off the 2025-26 season with an exhibition game in Aggie Gym against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Oct. 29. The regular season gets underway on Nov. 14 and 15 against New Mexico Highlands and Fort Lewis College as the Aggies take on the South Central Region Challenge.
