LAWTON, Ok — The Aggies softball team is set to play UT Tyler in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Championship on Thursday, May 1st.
Led by second year Head Coach Bryan Howard, Cameron softball is playoff bound for the first time in three years. The Aggies had an incredible second half of the season as they went on a nine game win streak throughout the month of April. Cameron finished off their conference play with an even 22-22 record and 29-23 overall record.
The team will now travel to Canyon, TX to face the Patriots who they just visited on April 27th. UT Tyler won all of their match ups against the Aggies throughout the season. In their most recent double header, Cameron began both games with a two run lead but lost momentum near the end.
Head Coach Howard expressed his enthusiasm about playoffs, "This team is excited because postseason is a new season." He continued with praise for his ball club, " We feel our players have proven they can compete with anyone at a high level. We look forward to the challenge on Thursday."
