RICHARDSON, Texas - The Lone Star Conference released its list of Volleyball preseason honors and rankings with the start of the 2025 season less than two weeks away.
Presleigh Roest,
Shelby Rusch, and
Rachael White were named as Players to Watch in the conference as the Aggies were ranked 17th in the preseason poll. 2024 LSC Tournament champion Angelo State was picked to first-place, receiving 30 first place votes and 933 points total. Defending league champion West Texas A&M comes in second with 18 first place votes and 919 points, and UT Tyler rounds out the top three with 859 points and 3 first place votes.
Roest was named an Offensive Player to Watch. The redshirt sophomore from Fort Worth, TX joins the Aggies for her first season after transfering from fellow LSC foe Midwestern State.
Rusch picked up Defensive Player to Watch honors. The senior libero totaled 302 digs over the course of the 2024 season, including a career-high of 26 in one game against Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 9.Â
White rounds out the Aggie Players to Watch as a setter. The senior posted 325 assists last season, eclipsing 1000 career assists. She also contributed defensively with 104 digs and 7 block assists.
The season gets started for the Aggies on Sept. 5 as they travel to Hays, KS for the Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational. There, they'll kick off the 2025 campaign against Rockhurst and Fort Hays State on Friday before taking on Northwest Missouri and Arkansas Tech on Saturday.
