Lawton, Oklahoma - The Cameron University baseball team claimed the weekend series win over #18 St. Edward's University after splitting the doubleheader on Monday afternoon. In the first game, Cameron took an ealry 2-0 lead after
Jackson Harrell hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second inning. St. Edward's would tie the game up in the top of the fifth, and take the lead 3-2 in the top of the sixth with a solo home run. The Hilltoppers would get out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh and hold on for the win. In the second game, Cameron took an early lead, scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first. The Aggies would tack on 4 more runs in the bottom of the second, due to a sacrifice fly, a double by
Zane Roos and a wild pitch.
Jackson Harrell extended the the lead again with a solo home run, and an error by St. Edward's led to two more runs scoring to make it 9-0 going into the fourth inning. The Aggies would add another run in the bottom of the fourth and another in the bottom of the sixth to lead by 11 runs going into the seventh inning. The Hilltoppers scored 2 runs in the top of the seventh, but their rally would come up short and Cameron would earn the win to claim the series.
