Lawton, Okla. - The Cameron University baseball team split the doubleheader against the University of Texas Permian Basin on Friday afternoon. In the first game, UT Permian Basin jumped out to an 8 run lead after two innings. Cameron responded in the top of the third inning with 4 runs. The Falcons tacked on 5 more runs in the bottom of the third inning and would hold on to their lead to win the game. In the second game, Cameron came alive offensively scoring 14 runs on 18 hits. The Aggies got on the board first with two runs in the top of the third inning. UT Permian Basin responded with two runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game. After 7 innings the game was still tied 6-6, but in the top of the eighth inning, Cameron scored 8 runs to go up 13-6. The Falcons answered again with 4 runs in the bottom of the eighth. The Aggies added on another run in the top of the ninth and defensively closed out the game for the win.
