LAWTON, Okla.  – The Cameron Aggies (23-13, 16-10 LSC) baseball team dropped a pair of games to Lone Star Conference rival Southeastern Oklahoma (23-13, 19-7 LSC) at McCord Field on Saturday under sunny skies.

The first game was a pitcher’s duel as Ricky Cramer and Jimmy Johnson allowed just three total runs as the Aggies fell 2-1 in extra innings.

The second game of the day was just the opposite as it featured 22 runs and 25 hits with the Aggies coming up on the losing side, 16-6.

Cramer held the Savage Storm hitless through the first 2.1 innings before a single from Justin Miller ended his hitless innings streak at 10, dating back to the Texas A&M-Kingsville series.

Back-to-back doubles from Nate Valdez and Joe Halley led to the Aggies first run of the game in the fourth inning but that was the only run the Aggies were able to plate.

In the fifth, Miller again singled to right field to reach. A single and a walk led to a bases loaded situation for the catcher, Eric Walker, who sent the ball sailing out to left field for a sacrifice fly and the Storm’s tying run.

Walker again made his presence known in the extra frame with a single homer to right field for the go-ahead and eventual winning run.

Cramer (5-3), the one half of this week’s LSC Pitcher of the Week team, picked up the loss on eight innings of work. The senior righthander scattered seven hits and two runs while walking three and fanning six.

Heath Wyatt, Cramer’s Co-Pitcher of the Week, was credited with the win after coming on in relief of Johnson. Wyatt worked two innings without allowing a hit or a run.

In the second game, the Storm jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead behind a pair of homers in the first frame off starter Wade Myatt.

In the bottom of the inning, the Aggies managed to load the bases and Halley drew a 3-1 walk to bring in the first run of the game. Andrew Garcia’s slicing shot down the third base line was trapped by the third baseman to end the inning with the bases full.

In the second, the Storm tacked on one more but Josh Dawson added a pair on a two-run shot to right field in the bottom half to cut the lead to 5-3. Chase Larsson drew a full count walk and the nation’s top run producer Kenny Held drove in his 58th RBI of the season with a single to center field.

The Storm added single runs in the third and fourth to push their lead to 7-4. In the fifth, the visitors added six more including a grand slam from lead-off hitter Justin Miller to make it a 13-4 ball game.

A passed ball and a catching error in the sixth allowed SOSU to plate three more runs to push their lead to 16-4.

In the seventh, the Aggies fought back to avoid the run rule but were able to plate just two and fell 16-6.

Myatt (3-2) was tagged with the loss after working the first two innings. He scattered seven hits and allowed six runs (five earned) while striking out two and walking one.

The two teams will square off tomorrow in a 1 P.M. game to close out their three-game series at McCord Field.
