ADA, Okla. – Ricky Cramer threw seven innings of no-hit baseball and the Cameron Aggies (21-11, 14-8 LSC) baseball team run-ruled the Tigers of East Central (9-25, 5-20 LSC), 11-0, on Friday in Ada.
Cramer (5-2) worked seven complete innings while walking four and striking out five batters. His defense committed just one error in the first frame but helped him to the tune of nine flyouts and four groundouts to get the no-no.
The game ran scoreless through three complete but the Aggies jumped onto the board in a big way in the fourth, a five run thumping led by a two RBI single from the nation’s top home run hitter in Chase Larsson.
Larsson added another RBI in the sixth as he roped a three-bagger to center field as part of a three-run inning for the Aggies to push their lead to 8-0.
Kenny Held, who leads the nation in RBIs, added two of his own on the day including one in the sixth and another in the seventh.
The Aggies added three more runs in the seventh including a RBI double from P.J. Ortega to make it an 11-0 ballgame and create the run-rule situation.
First baseman Andrew Garcia also went 3-of-4 at the plate including an RBI in the fourth to continue his string of hard hitting baseball over the last four games.
The Aggies will return to the diamond tomorrow against the Tigers in a scheduled doubleheader beginning at 1 P.M.
